anime: Full Metal Panic? FUMOFFU!

Yes, already watched the whole thing.  After Perfect Girl Evolution, FMP is about the purest form of anime crack there is.  This series focused on Sousuke and Kaname in school, which was the best part of the first series.  Watching Sousuke attempt to be a normal teenager without a clue as to what one ois is worth almost any price.  I really liked Tsubaki and the student body president, both of whom there needed to be far, far more of.  There also needed to be more of Mao and Webber.  

One thing that annoyed me, though,  was Tessa...I liked her in FMP but thought they wasted a fair bit of her potential by making her mostly be the other girl who liked Sousuke, but he it's like she forgot all her pride and dignity on the ship and all that was left was shameless chasing after Sousuke and starting things with Kaname(which wasn't in the first series...she was MUCH better behaved in that regard there) and basically being annoying.  In FMP, Sousuke was largely oblivious to her crush but seemed OK with her, here, he's like a caged animal backed into a corner, and I don't blame him.  Sheesh.  Hopefully she'll find her personality beyond shameless crushing again in FMP: TSR.

Incidentally, for those who've seen it...know the rugby ep. where Sousuke was reading from Mao's training manual?  I was brushing my teeth when he spouted certain lines.

Next up is Full Metal Alchemist(well, ep. 5+...already seen the first 4)

I hated tessa in FMP, so it was no surprise to find her like this in Fumoffu. Re: TSR? I want to kill her there. But that actually applies to most of the Mirthril people in TSR. My hate for them was directly proprotional to my Sousuke and Kaname love. TSR is my favorite of the three btw, which in dangermousie terms means a lot of angst. It's so incredibly good, and just...guuuuuh worthy.

The rugby ep is my favorite Fumoffu ep. Mr. Mousie and I just randomly rewatch it all the time.

I was on the fence about Tessa in FMP. Thought she had potential but that it was mostly wasted. Fumoffu dropkicked me off the fence. One of the main things that kept her on the fence was that she was relatively mature as far as the triangle goes, and she was like a 2 year old who wanted the toy in Fumoffu. Tessa is a case of the creative staff having a blinding crush on a character to the pont of making her very hatable. As far as Mithril goes...I like Kurtz and Mao, the rest can get blown up while they're on a mission and Sousuke's on a case and I wouldn't notice. Don't hate them, but...

The Rugby ep and the Yakuza ep were scary awesome.

FMP is very very wonderful (it starts a bit slow but then really gets good). It's my third favorite anime series.

Btw, I started the ceres manga, and it's even better than the anime :)

It was the bit that I found by Googling "he was sent to be her protection" that got me hooked at once. I loooove these things!!

I have never read any manga, and I must confess I never seen one in the bookshops. :(

Re: manga. That is so odd. We have some in even small or medium sized bookstores around here, and whole sections devoted to them in large chain stores like Borders or Barnes&Noble.

FMP is amazing. I adore Sousuke and Kaname and actually, they vie for my favorite anime otp spot, with Miaka and Tamahome from Fushigi Yuugi (which you totally have to watch). There is one scene in the rain with guns and white shirts especially...*sigh*

She is so non-wimpish and funny and cracky and he is so strong and figuring out how to be a human and just protective and huuuuh

WHen I think more of it, may be I never searched well in the bookstores? It is more difficult because I usually order books/DVDs from the Web. I will try to find!!!!!!

It's usually labeled as manga/graphic novels here. But online stores have nots of them, just search by title (e.g. 'Ceres: The Celestial Legend.')

Most bookstores(here, at least) have a section for manga and graphic novels.

Also, amazon often has manga in the "4-for-3" sale.

FMP is awesome...just to not eat, drink, brush your teeth or be holding anything that's not invulnerable while you watch it...disasters could occur.
