So, I figure thi will either be completely ignored(in which case, we'll just forget it ever happened, ok?) or it will own me for the next few weeks. All the following applies to the latter option.
1. The poll is simple: among each pair of options, who has the bigger sibling complex? The only organization beyond category was trying to make sure no 2 characters from the same series ended up against each other.
2. I'm too lazy to put up a comprehensive character/complex description, but most competitors can be found in the comments
here. If you don't know them and don't see them there, just ask and I(or maybe someone else who sees it before I do) will answer.
3. I'll probably keep each round open for 2 days. For the first round, I'm still taking submissions(and I'm already aware of at least 1 that I stupidly left out...) Just comment in that poll. However:
A) Provide CANON evidence of a complex.
B) Blood relationships or together since birth only. If I include step and adopted siblings acquired in childhood or teen years, it will be never ending. I have to draw the line somewhere...
4. Nope, no straight up incest category, sorry. For one thing, it's often more in the nature of a taboo relationship than an actual complex, and it would also be rather never ending. That said, if anyone wants to do one, there's plenty of fodder for it in the post above. (Yeah, that's why Anthy and Akio are the only
Revolutionary Girl Utena siblings to not make an appearance)
A couple examples of what I mean and exceptions to the rules(cases like these are allowed):
1) I included the Casull siblings because they've been raised with Pacifica as their sister since she was a few days old. If it weren't for everyone else in the world trying to kill her, all three would probably completely forget they weren't related to blood. In their relationship, not being blood related is completely irrelevant.
2) I included Hakkai despite the nature of his relationship with Kanon being incestuous because the actually complex comes from her death, not the relationship itself. From all appearances, if you remove the fact that the relationship itself was taboo, they seemed to actually have a fairly normal relationship. His complex comes not from the relationship itself, but from how Kanon died, and what he did and became to try to save her.
Round one(of hopefully several) posts:
Sibling Rivalry taken to new levels.Devotion to and obsession with corpses. What passes as a healthy complex in the world of anime and manga.Complexes that make you do a double take.GO VOTE!
ETA: Now fixed with things I THOUGHT I fixed last night...it's what happens when you do this at 2 a.m...
