Oh! I forgot to mention! Shin's already dead in the present-day storyline of Tenjho Tenge. He killed himself with a needle and pretty much ruined Maya's life. How's that for highly questionable love!

He was. Tenjho Tenge had a flashback arc that lasted ~4 volumes to show us exactly what happened to make everything the way they were. That's how we got to saw his questionable feelings for her in all their full glory.

He could also fit in the "Touch my sister and I'll tear you to shreds" category but, er, he did do that. Multiple times. Literally.
