Ok, I read far too much in far too short a time to have a proper writeup or anything, so just some scattered thoughts.

I must now debate whether to delete these chapters to free up needed hard drive space, or to keep them for possible future icon making.

Ok, I shall be 100% honest:  it is extremely difficult to discuss this book without just repetively going "ZSADIST! BELLA! OTP! REHVENGE! JOHN!" but I shall try.

Lover Awakened is the 3rd book in Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood series, and the one [profile] magicnoirewas dangling in front of me like a carrot.  With good reason (she can predict my shipping/character preferrences with concerning accuracy, that one...)

It's the rare(only?) vampire romance(book, even) where I feel absolutely no desire whatsoever to mock it for cliches, emo or badness.  Or even crack.  It's an extreme "beauty and the beast" story with an aristocrat recovering from almost the worst thing that could happen to a woman, and a scarred slave who's turned self-hatred into an art form over the decades.  Clearly, it's fairly dark, a bit messed up, and not chirpy happy fun.

I love it to bits.

Why is it that if I buy half a gallon of milk, I use it up in 2-3 days, but if I buy a gallon, I still have half of it left when the expiration date comes 10 days later?

And why doesn't rightstuf have a nice little "my account" link on the front page...OR ANYWHERE WHERE I CAN FIND IT?!?!?!?!!?

*sigh*

My coworkers know me so well...we are discussing our secret santa x-mas and they just announced that what would make me happiest is a gift card to Hastings are Waldenbooks.  And they are right.

Sadly, they are also shocked that I do not love Happily N'Ever After, proof of the eternal belief that I value elements over execution(the movie had good moments, but killed itself for me right at the start by saying the balance of good and evil meant good always won.)  The fact that I only like the first Shrek movie should have clued them in than it takes more than just a new take on fairytales to make me love something.

ETA: (ok, seriously, how is my favorite quote or people I find to be influential supposed to help buy me a good christmas gift?)

ETA 2:  Dear cleaning person:  DO NOT UT YOUR WET CLOTH NEAR BY BOOK AND DO NOT PICK UP MY BOOK< WIPE THE DESK AND PUT MY BOOK BACK ON THE WET DESK WITHOUT EVEN WARNING ME SO I CAN MOVE IT!!! *hyperventilates*
