1. I feel it was very cruel to make me wait over 10 episodes for Papa Carter and the Tok'ra only to wipe out most of the Tok'ra. We also need a new regular Tok'ra in addition to Papa Carter.

2. Speaking of which, it was also cruel to say Lantash was alive and give him a new host, then kill him off. I was looking forward to the young guy with hero worship for O'Neill being host to the Tok'ra who's half in love with Carter because it has the memories of Martouf, who was in love with Carter because she had been host to the Tok'ra he was in love with. Or something like that. The point is that I have been robbed of meandering angst.

3. Speaking of the Tok'ra, why is it that except for Papa Carter/Selmac and Martouf/Lantash/Elliot, all the Tok'ra, depite supposedly having an equal partnership with their hosts, seem to have the goauld primarily running the body?

4. Why did Tanith die in a "blink and you'll miss it" cameo?

5. I feel no pumishment exists that is great enough for Robert McCay. He called Carter a dumb blonde. Apparently he slept through all the times her brain has saved the universe and was busy dreaming up times he had while he was at it.

6. The number of aliens randomly falling in love with Carter seems to be decreasing. I find this to be distressing.

7. And why are so many episodes having the actual Stargate nowhere or barely to be seen?

8. I have finally realized why, even though I like him, I don't love Daniel as much as I should. He's rather smug and arrogant but pretends he isn't. I probably wouldn't notice if it weren't for the fact that Carter is even more justified to be smug and arroagant, but isn't.

9. Teal'c needs to do more this season. And quit using guns and go back to the staff weapon. And have they completely forgotten he has a wife and kid?

10. I am irked with the disc case spoiling the Kytano ep. Not completely, but enough that I figured it out pretty quickly. Of course, we were meant to know there was something Wrong with him when he derisively referred to Carter as "the female" (which he was put in his place for, of course.)

The trash collector did not come by once this week, as opposed to the usual twice. The trash is threatening to spill out of the bins and devour the parkinglot. Actually, there's at least another bin and a half full of trash piled around the bins, but it's being kept out of the way so far.

So Daniel is now a glowy tentacle alien?  Hmm...I guess that means they aren't really aliens...or aren't all aliens...or whatever.   I suspect I would feel more if I didn't know he'd be back in a season or two.

Also, where have I seen Jonas Quinn before?  I'd check IMDB, but A) I'm lazy, and B) I"m about to leave for work.  Also, is he the one we're keeping until Michael Shanks decides he wants a regular paycheck again Daniel returns for whatever plot reason?

*ahem*

WHY HAS ONLY ONE PERSON EVER MENTIONED THIS AUTHOR TO ME?

1.  Politically driven fantasy.

2.  No wussy female characters, not even the "weak" girly queen.

3. Interesting characters.

4.  Massive amounts of swashbuckling.

5.  It starts with a catburglar style rescue mission.

6.  The powerful people are the women.

7.  Did I mention swashbuckling and the lack of wussy female characters?

Ile-Rein is in a bit of a tough spot.  The new king, Roland, is, frankly, a wuss and easily manipulated, especially by his cousin and lover, Denzil.  His wife, Falaise, believed to be a brainless twit, a fact various courtiers do their best to exploit, and the Dowager Queen, Ravenna, just barely manages to keep her weak son under her iron thumb.  Meanwhile, Roland's half-fae older half-sister, Kade, The  Fayre Queen of Air and Darkness, has decided to claim her brirthright as the former king's firstborn.  Stuck right smack in the middle is Thomas Boniface, the cavalier, swashbuckling commander of the Queen's Guard, a man more than tired of court life, but  utterly and unquestionably loyal to his queen.

For better or for worst, Things Happen and a political coupe at court forces Thomas and Kade to work together to save Ile-Rein from Evil Politicians and the Unseelie court, not to mention make the rest of the royal family(including Kade) deal with their issues.  The book has it's share of first book flaws, notably the authors thinking we know what's going on as well as she does and throwing things out at us, and some relationships not being fully explained, but that's normal first book stuff.  There's also the horribly stereotyped homosexual relationship between Denzil and Roland, where one is evil and manipulative and the other weak easily manipulated and there's no middle ground, but I'm passing that off as publishing in general, as I suspect it's more a 90's publishing thing than Wells herself.  Despite that, though, it was very good, and I'm definately getting more of her books.

Besides, if you've been here longer than a week or two, or maybe even just that long, then you know there's no way I can resist an author who gives me lovers prone to saying things like this:

Him:  "Fine.  But if he wins, I want you to hurt him very badly before you kill him."
Her:  "I will.  Very Badly."

After a discussion about how it would be much easier if he'd just ignore manners and propriety and let her kill the other guy already.

I am easily manipulated by some things.
