GIANT TALKING DEMON CHICKEN OF DOOM!!!!

A TALKING CHICKEN just showed up in Slayers.  I do not make that up.  A TALKING CHICKEN JUST SHOWED UP.

(Actually, for the curious, look at one of  rachelmanija's comments and icon in the books rec post I made earlier today, and click the link she provided.)

This has "universal conspiracy" written all over it.

Ah, but if only it were a pigeon who had raised one of the girls...

ETA:  It is now a giant demon chicken and has menaced one of the girls one-on-one, and is now taking on the whole group.  And seems to  be coming out ahead so far.

Kamen Tantei and Genju no Seiza?

Has anyone read these manga?  I just realized this weekend that they're by the same mangaka as Petshop of Horrors.  

If you've read them, are they good?  And how long are they?  (PoH could have been a little shorter, IMO.)

PS-I apologize to anyone who has commented in the book recs post who I haven't replied to.  The comments have reached rather monstrous proportions-which, of course, is a GOOD thing, but also a hard-to-keep-up-with thing.

that was traumatizing

In the breakroom earlier, they were playing some commercial that involved either nicotine patches or cigarettes or something.  I wasn't really paying attention, until this one person said that you shouldn't have too much nicotine, just the MAGICAL AMOUNT.  And when he said that, there were suddenly all these animated magical creatures singing and talking about the magical amount of nicotine...and then they poofed and the humans went about their business, talking about the magical amount of nicotine.

It was bizarre.

And scary.

I may have had saucer eyes.

Meanwhile, the most interesting thing going on here today is that the heater was turned on way too high when we got here and we felt like we were suffocating.
