can anyone animate these Kekkaishi bases for me?

clicky )

Out of curiosity, for anyone who reads/watches both, does Tokine make anyone else think a little bit of Sakura in Naruto, only  without the early crushing and shallowness, and without being sidelined so much?  (So far, at least...)  I'm not sure why I think that, but I keep thinking it.

1)  Does anyone know how, exactly, the whole extra rebate thing works?  Was it ever clarified if everyone got it, or just some people?  The only thing I ever saw said that if you got it, you'd get it sometime in May.  Does everyone get it at once(if they get it) or is it spread through the month by name/SSN?

2)  For the manga fans, rightstuf.com currently has Del Rey manga on sale at 33% off, 40% off if you're a gotanime member.  I think I'll read the first volume of Genshiken I have and check out scans for the first volume of Fairy Tale and maybe Kurogane to see if I want to add those to my pile, but mostly I'll just be preordering the series I already follow.

3)  Strangely, I have no desire to go see Iron Man at all.  I blame Marvel and DC "events" for crushing my inner comic book fangirl under their evil heals.

4) [personal profile] dangermousie, Legend came in the mail today.  THANK YOU!  (Shall watch soon!)  ([profile] ladysaotome, I also stillneed to watch Vineyard Man, but I don't like starting modern kdramas unless I'm in exactly the right mood.)

No want to work today.

Guys, does Vala ever stop with the pigtails?  Ever?

anyway... )

I remained saddened by Sam still not seeming to get to do a lot.

Still not quite sure what I think of the whole Vala/Daniel thing.  On the one hand, it works, but on the other, it still feels like they're pushing it a bit too hard at times(Sam/Jack void and the whole Farscape business...) and I'm not really used to SG1 pushing pairings, and then there's that whole pesky thing where you have real people playing the roles and the chemistry doesn't always work the way you want.  Claudia Black has chemistry with Michael Shanks, but she has more chemistry with Ben Browder and Christopher Judge.  Ah well, no REAL complaints with it.  And they entertain me, which is all I require.

So, according to this, if I was going to get the extra rebate, I would have received it today.  Sadness.

Also, am absurdly sleepy.  Spent the last hour before leavng for work pretty much sprawled in bed.  I hope this doesn't last my whole shift.

 Who's Keladry?

I ask for the absolutely oddest of reasons:  I saw icons casting Leelee Sobieksi(which I just misspelled but am too lazy to check IMDB) from her Joan of Arc mini as Keladry.

Yes, the oddest things make me notice things.

In a turn of the century Europe different from our own almost only in that magic exists, eighteen-year-old Faris Nallaneen is the heiress of the Duchy of Galazon.  Her uncle, Brinker, however, has no intentions of turning the country over to her any sooner than he has to, and is only too happy to obey her late mother's wishes and send her away to school.  She needn't worry about coming home for the holidays.  The feeling is mutual.

So off Faris, more than a bit of a hoyden and with no intentions to do anything but speak her mind, goes to Greenlaw College, a finishing school that teaches, among other things, magic.  There, she meets Jane, a young Englishwoman at school until her father finds someone to marry her off to, Menary, the daughter of the King of Aravall, a country that claims Galazon as a holding, and a country some think Faris has a claim to, and Tyrian, a bodyguard sent by Brinker.  More to keep her from coming home than to make sure no one kills her.

ETA:  So, apparently, this was originally released as mainstream fantasy, and was just remarketed as YA.  Pft.  And here I thought I was slowly but surely expanding my teeny weeny YA experience.
