2008 in review: doramas

This was a very light year for me as far as dramas go. I only watched 10 full dramas (one of which was a two part special) and 4 episodes of another (included for the crack), far fewer than I did the first two years I watched them. This isn’t deliberate, as I think I’ve been slightly “myeh” on watching things in general the last 6~ months. That is, I’ve been watching things, obviously, but not making an effort to, and dramas require effort, as few are licensed, I don’t get any of the very few U.S. stations that air them, and then I haven’t had a DVD player recently. (Until the last few days, that is.) There are a lot of dramas I wanted to watch, but didn’t get around to. Hopefully in 2009.

2008 book meme

The Librarything book meme that’s been going around. I did it last year, too, but left out the manga. How it works is simple:

The poll is of every book I’ve read this year (except that I think a few slipped between the cracks and aren’t listed, probably from when I switched primary computer use from Fakir to Rue when Fakir started misbehaving). If you’ve read a book listed in the poll at any point in time, check it. For manga, check it if you’ve read any of the series, whether or not it’s the same volumes I’ve read. Even if you don’t check a single box, please answer the first question just so I know how many people did it. I’m not including comics, or manga chapters for series where I’ll buy the US releases when they come stateside. Also, there are a few graphic novels included in the books because I was too lazy to move them. Both groups are listed alphabetically by author.

I unearthed an extra copy of Basara Vol 15 while organizing the manga stacks.  The fact that that volume has been out a good 2-3 years should give you an idea of how long it's been since I organized the collection.

At the moment, there are empty bookcases and a sincere threat of a bookslide.

Anyway, anyone need a copy of that volume?  I know a few volumes are out of print and go for ridiculous prices.  I'm free, but could take forever and a day to get it out.  (I have two packages that I've needed to get out for months, and I think I've lost the addresses for both.)
