The Gifted
Oct. 3rd, 2017 12:09 pmSo, the last name of the main family in The Gifted is named Strucker, there are 2 blond mutant teens close in age with complementary powers (they both appear to have a form of telekinesis) and one is named Andy. I have no idea if this is foreshadowing, comic nerd trolling, or pure coincidence.
Anyway, I liked the pilot. It’s set in the present or near present and is in one of the early-ish stages of one of the many Very Bad Terrible Futures from the X-Men comics, but scaled down for a TV budget. They seem to have a pretty good idea of what they’re doing. I suspect if there are narrative problems, they’ll stem from the “what can we and what can’t we do because of movies and licensing” that plagued Supergirl’s first season.
