how many entries using one tag will show up if someone clicks on it?  I've been told it'll only show a certain number of entries, as opposed to all of them.

Asking because I've only been using tags consistently for 6-7 months, if that long, and need to go bacjk to the beginning and tag things.

Only the most recent 100 tags will show up for any tag. It's in the LJ FAQ, but it's very easy to miss. What this means is that is you're using your tags for indexing purposes, very specific tags are better than general tags, but if you want to use general tags also, you will have to differentiate them after each 100. I did both of these things, as well as built subject-specific indices to help find things faster.

thankies. should only be a problem for a few of my tags. I generally have a specific tag, then a genre tag.

I believe it's 100.. I tried to go back one of my biggest tags - bollywood - and only managed to go back 100 entries. I edited the url to say "?skip=120" but it came up with a page with no entries.

It's such an unhandy system in this regard! I now wonder if I should make more specific tags from now on, like "bollywood reviews", "bollywood gossip", "bollywood pics" or something, just to use an example. Or then I have to do what Mousie does and eventually work on a tag system with bollywood 1, bollywood 2 etc.

It cuts out after a hundred. Considering I have some tags with hundreds, I need to retag myself.

hmm...i should be safe for everything but anime, manga, comics and maybe wuxia and doramas.

I never realised it cuts off after 100 entries, I just occasionally wondered why some posts were missing with some tags. I see I'll have to do a retagging project with some of my tags as well (films, books and doramas are the first ones that come to mind...).
