meganbmooreI apologize to any who saw the title and thought it was the Marvel character.
Most of this one was Train flashing back to when Creed killed Saya. I’m glad she put up a lot more of a fight than we’ve previously been led to believe, but I’m not sure what I think about Creed finally getting her when she got distracted by kids. Creed’s obsession with Train is certainly…interesting. Almost the Clamp variety of being obsessed with your enemy. Nice to see that Sephiria was always the scary badass that everyone scared of, but I wish she’d get to actually show her stuff. It’s like Unohana in Bleach: she doesn’t fight because she chooses not to, and everyone is scared of her, but we never get to actually see her kick ass.
Eve continues to be the most mature, capable person in the book. Train is deluding himself into thinking that if he’s after the bounty on Creed’s head, then it isn’t revenge. She needs to say that to Rinslet, so she can attack him with her common sense. I’m amused by Sven hiring Rinslet to help him train by firing cannonballs at him. Then again, who else would he ask to? She’s the only person he knows who’s over 10, not evil, and has a fully functioning brain.
We also get Traditional Additions to the Standard Shounen Buddy Harem. Uhm, I mean, there seem to be two other guys out there after Creed who are about to join up. One is a giant bruiser with spiky hair called River, and his smaller, clever, glasses wearing friend. I am curious to see what happens with them. And fearful of entering rounds of powerups.
