Angel Sanctuary Vol 4
Jun. 28th, 2008 06:08 pmHunh. Looks like this is the last volume I read the first time through. I thought it was farther in.
Enough with the sexist and abusive characters being sexist and abusive. Can’t I just have Setsuna being emo, Sara proudly refusing to feel guilt or shame, Kurai and Raziel being wee!cute and Kira walking around slicing up enemies while he reads a book?
I really am easy to please, you know…
And now I break from the series, as I don’t have vol 5
Dear Self: Rosiel is male.
M.A.L.E.
Please keep repeating this to yourself until you stop going “is that really a guy?” every time he shows up.
Rosiel/Katan gets EVEN CREEPIER this volume, and we learn Katan survived Tokyo blowing up and Rosiel force fed him that pill that turns you into a mass of brainless wires, and then locked Katan in a coffin when he returned to Heaven. I’m sure Katan will get better.
MORE IMPORTANTLY!!!
Someone please explain Adam Cadamon’s long speech there. I caught the part where he fixed Tokyo and Kira is the seven bladed sword (but I thought we’d already been told?) and where Kira stabs Setsuna so Setsuna can go to Hades and find Sara and bring her back, but he only has seven days, or Setsuna will die, and Tokyo-will be redestroyed.
I long for more scenes of Kurai’s underlings objecting to Big Bad Kira in her castle.
And then Kato is revealed to be Setsuna’s guide through Hades. Very nice of them to give him one. Kato as a human was boring and annoying and disposable. Kato as a ghost is snarky and deadpan flippant and borderline cheerful and seems to have few issues about babysitting the guy who killed him. I was starting to like him, until he revealed that he beat his girlfriends to keep himself from falling for him.
Then there’s Sevy. I was starting to quite like him, until he said women were an abomination and filth and the creation of women was the greatest mistake ever. Aah…it also made me think more seriously about whether or not there’s secretly a woman under there.
