One of several book posts that I drafted a while back and forgot to post once I started doing the Wednesday reading meme.
So very much happened in these volumes!
So, that's twice in as many months for me where 1/2 of an OTP has gone bad and the other half has killed them, and then themselves. I hope this isn't turning into a trend. (Mura was my favorite, guys! I'm very sad about this.)
I'm glad the Nakbin plot is over and done with. I liked Nakbin, but everything has gotten rather convoluted there, and I'm glad we're moving on.
Soah and Habaek are never going to manage to have sex, are they? (THE WEDDING CEREMONY WAS SO PRETTY. AND HER CLOTHES.) Not sure about the IF YOU EAT THE PEACH YOU'LL PROBABLY GO INSANE development, but I guess the manhwaga thought she'd cleared up too much angst.
I REALLY want that backstory with the goddess who made her human lover immortal and then had to kill him, though. (Especially since it appears to be Mura's friend who hates humans, which means her son goes around casually explaining how his mother made his father immortal and then had to kill him. As one does.)
I'm currently most invested in Habaek's parents, who are probably even more doomed than Mura and Bi Ryeom. Lovers turned enemies who risk death to see each other >>>>>>> straightup enemies as lovers.
(Granted, I'm pretty sure everyone but Habaek and Soah are doomed. I mean, mythologically, Habaek has multiple daughters, one of whom is Jumong's mother, so he has to get to making them with someone.)
