No, seriously. (Incidentally, Platinum Garden is like the slightly sadistic spawn of Fruits Basket and It Started With A Kiss.  I love it.)

Anyway, the guy, Mizuki, is the family head(but, being a high school student, is treated more like a family pet/slave with privileges...kind of "you're the head but really you just do whatever we want and aren't allowed to have your own life")has the ability to temporarily revive the dead(does his family essentially rent him out for seance-type things so they can get rich?  Why yes, yes they do.)  How did the family elders test his abilities as a child?  They killed an animal every day and brought it to him to test his progress.  *blood boils*

Though...it seems that as far as family gifts/curses go, he could be worse off...one "cousins," Toya, looks 10 or so but is actually Mizuki's great-great-great-uncle(think I have that right...Mizuki is his youngest sister's great-grandson)  And according to him, he got off easy in comparison to some family members.

I plan to post on it in a bit, but...poor girl Kazura's grandfather dies and in his will, he "leaves" Kazura to Mizuki to pay off his debt(there's actually a good reason for this that I can spoil if you want) Kazura thinks she's going to his house-he lives alone except for 1 cousin- to be a housemaid, but he wants her to pretend to be his fiance to stave off the family matchmakers. They're your kind of OTP...sweet cheerful and energetic girl and severely damaged boy who hides it behind a cold(and slightly sadistic yet extremely overprotective) facade.
