meganbmoore14 pages into White Night and I've forgotten the pain of the Harrison book. Murphy has reminded me of why I love her...oh...5-6 times(and kicked butt) and Harry...well...Harry is Harry...and I now have a voice to go with the narration.
Harry after inserting his foot in his mouth:
"I should be less stupid."
"We all think that, Harry, but no one blames you."
"That's real big of you Mini Mouse."
When the subject of religion comes up(serial killer killing witches) w/ Exodus 22:18 left for magic users to find(Murphy first)
"Stop making me think. I'm believing over here."
"See? This is why I'm not religious. I couldn't possibly keep my mouth shut long enough to get along with everyone else."
Harry figuring out this may not be the first killing(which we figured out a few pages earlier, but Harry was buy denying the call of OTP):
"This isn't the only suicide, is it?"
"Right Now, I'm on the job. That isn't something I could share with you. The way someone like Butters might."
After which Murphy(with her eyes closed) whups an invisible girl's butt(Molly, Harry's apprentice) and then punishs her for possibly contaminating hher crime scene(a surefire way to end up dead) and then she and Harry lay out every single thing she did to be found out. Ruthlessly. Because she was bad. (and the visual is great as Molly Is about 5'10"~ and has done almost every "teen rebel" thing possible to her body, so she's being scolding by a walking wall a head taller than her, and a martial artist cop about 10 inches shorter)
