Samurai Deeper Kyo: scenes from vol 10(post 2 of 3)

Here, Yuya has been kidnapped by(among others, but mostly just...) Akira, Kyo's former ward/protege/foster kid/groupie, who's devoted his life to becoming as strong as, if not stronger than, Kyo.  Kyo found Akira on a battlefield when Akira was a child(Akira, an orphan,  survived by robbing from from corpses) and told him that if he had the guts and strength to follow him, he'd make Akira the second strongest in the world(Kyo has a unique idea of inspirational speeches) and as a result, Akira has devored his life to becoming as strong as Kyo.  He likes his Kyo homicidal and ruthless, not worried about and protecting some random girl, so he decides to test him.  Incidentally, Akira is actually somewhat in love with Yuya himself, which has already started at this point(though I didn't include those pages) but not as a "romantic rival"(aside from Kyo's hangup about being convinced Yuya is in love with Kyoshiro, SDK pretty much avoids any REAL triangles or romantic rivals) but more of a "in love with my older brother's girl" thing.

Tokyopop translates that as "the life of yuya Shiina" as opposed to "Yuya's soul"

Kyo=stone(actually, he's probably going "*bleep*! I let then see how mad I was and she's fine?  Maybe they'll all forget..."

My girl even rescues her kidnappers.  *shakes head because she knows the trouble being so nice will get her into later*



Don't worry Yuya, it's not YOU he's mad at(really, he just doesn't want anyone to know he's happy you're ok)




Anyway, more fighting, later on, Akir'a shows up again(Kyo's body switches hands in between) and basically does a "I'll take what I get, besides, you still get nice and homicidal when it comes to her, so it'll do."

Later, once things are calm again...













Gotta love it...waiting all that time for everyone to just go away so they won't see him being his version of nice(though, you know everyone else knew it).  And really, in the SDK-verse, giving her the gun like that is the equivalent of showering her with chocolate and roses/
