meganbmoore | Basara Vol 4: just 2 scenes

Still going to be doing the absurdly huge posts that I've been doing, but I was bored waiting for Liar Game ep 2 softsubs(which are now up) so I decided to post 2 short scenes from Vol 4. Vol 4 is where things kick off into high gear, and where the war goes from something to take care of so he can move on to other things to something personal for Shuri. And, of course, the person he turns to for comfort is(unknowingly for both sides) the person responsible for his loss, and after this, the plot bulldozes ahead. The other scene is Shido/Ageha and lays the groundwork for what's probably my favorite subplot. See here or here(with less detail but no images)for an explanation of Ageha and Shido's relationship. The MV has a lot of the anime version of the Shuri/Sarasa scene towards the end..

The Shido/Ageha scene. Shido has been fighting Sarasa and Hayato, and there was a landslide. Ageha finds him in the rubble.

(I'm sure you can guess who will end up protecting the person waiting for Shido)

Anyway, Shido fights Sarasa, and realizes that Shuri's enemy and the girl he's falling in love with are the same person, but is shot and killed by Hayato before he can reveal it(or kill Sarasa) After, Ageha has this to say to Shido:

People generally don't cry and look depressed at the death of a person they hate unless they also love them...like I said, the relationship is twisted and(until later) Shido is the only person Ageha has ever(platonically) loved, and the fact that it was his abusor's child only made him also hate him more.

Anyway, Shuri...uhm...goes a bit nuts, what with his only friend dying on him, and the only person he has to turn to for comfort, even though he doesn't know that Shido died so that he wouldn't kill her...Of course, he tries to still be the happy, slightly pervy Shuri he always tries to be with her, but it doesn't go well for him and his inner angsty woobie wins out.
