Did I say I was watching Seven Swords next? I think I want to save some Donnie Yen goodnes for later. My love for Nicholas Tse, though is very new, so I shall now(well, tomorrow) watch his wuxia cdrama, Handsome Siblings, esp. after poking around youtube.
First, a trailer:
the last shots in this one...
Boy does he work that hair...and angsts...and am I seeing this right tyhat Tse is blind at some point(note: mohawk thing aside, other guy looks pretty good too)

Date: 2007-05-11 02:52 pm (UTC)I HAVE seen The Promise, or at least some of it, and...well...I liked Nicholas Tse's character a lot, and the dog-like guy was interesting, but the whole thing was just so over the top melodramatic and flashy that it just seemed silly to me. That said, Dragon Tiger Gate did give me a newfound appreciation for him(and my noticing you when Donnie Yen is there kicking butt and angsting in a tight blue tank top means you definately get followed up on) so I'll likely give it another chance.
Speaking of The Promise, it's interesting...I've liked the actress, Cecelia Cheung, in every movie I've seen her in-The Promise, Warriors of Xu, White Dragon-but haven't liked any of the movies(Warriors of Xu basically tried to cram all the plot and complexity of a 30-40 eps series into under 2 hours-which is my fear for Seven Swords, but Donnie shall compensate if so-and White Dragon started out an awesome wuxia version of the Cary Elwes Robin Hood then it chickened out 20 minutes in and turned silly)
