Sooo...the news the dorama loving portion of my flist is making sure gets around is that Oguri Shun has been cast as Sano, Hirokita Maki as Mizuki and someone I don't know named Toma as Nakatsu in the Japanese version of Hana Kimi.

Now, Maki?  Really, the only other actress I know who Ithink could possibly pull it off is Inoue Mao(Erica Toda, much as I adore her, is disqualified simply because her face is far too girly...if I though they could convince methat she could convince someone she was a boy, she'd be my top pick) and Maki did cute and spunky pretty well in the one episode of Teppan Shojo Akane I've seen, so I approve.

I don't know Toma from Adam, so I'll just assume he'll make a good Nakatsu.

And Oguri Shun?  Well, yes, 90% of the currently functioning part of my brain(ther est is looking at various hard surfaces and thinking "PILLOW!!!!"...no really...the cement pillars with textured paint are actually rather comfortable) is chanting "Oguri Shun in lead role.  Oguri Shun in lead role.  Oguri Shun in lead role.  Oguri Shun in lead role.  Oguri Shun in lead role.  Oguri Shun in lead role.  Oguri Shun in lead role.  Oguri Shun in lead role.  Oguri Shun in lead role.  Oguri Shun in lead role.  Oguri Shun in lead role.  Oguri Shun in lead role.  Oguri Shun in lead role.  Oguri Shun in lead role."  The other 10% is going "Uhm...isn't he about 24-25, and Maki 18-19?"  Which, of course, makes Maki the perfect age for Mizuki, but, Oguri Shun looked a little older than the rest in Hana Yori Dango, where he was playing a slightly older character anyway.  I'm just worried that Sano'll end up looking more out of place than Mizuki.  I actually heard he was going to be in it over the weekend, just not what role, and I automatically assumed Nanba, with an outside chance of Umeda.

Of course, we all know that in the end, I'll just squee my head off anyway...

In other news, there's no way I'm driving home at midnight when I'm like I am today, so in 26(half shift) it's home+blanket+ body pillow+floor(it's comfy)+either Rebirth or Philadelphia Story.

I was gonna say "Well, Wu Chun in the twdrama was 28.." but then I realized, the girl lead Ella is 25 so not much of an age difference there. I had no idea Maki was so young! Yikes.

Still, I'm looking forward to it, and I'm glad you're looking forward to it, too.

I think Umeda might be played by this guy... http://wiki.d-addicts.com/Kamikawa_Takaya

The DramaWiki has a bunch of new names added, you'll probably recognize more than I do, or then not: http://wiki.d-addicts.com/Hanazakari_no_Kimitachi_e

Eeeeh. I'm not so sure about Toma playing Nakatsu, who's just about my favorite Hanakimi character. But then that's probably why.

I'll save my judgment on Maki later, but I think Shun will probably pull off Sano.

Although I'm feeling pretty excited about this already!!

EEEEEEE! Squee! Who minds the age!!!! They all look too old to be 17-year olds anyways. I thought Horikita Maki is 20-something, I am really surprised she is so young. A lucky gal anyways!! I need to watch Hana Kimi now to get myself up to speed!

Heh. My only REAL concern about the age is the Shun is about 6 years older than Maki, and some actors tend to be uneasy about that when it means her age still starts with(or just stopped starting with) "1" And if it follows the manga, she'll be plastering herself all over him in bed(sleep-crawls into his bunk a lot)

I likely wouldn't be aware of it if I hadn't only recently learned that Hu Ge felt uncomfortable making romantic scenes in Chinese Paladin because he was 20 and Crystal Liu was only 16 at the time(which, granted, is MUCH different from 24-25 and 19~) He did a good job of making it come across as his character viewing hers as something of an untouchable fairy princess at times(which she kinda was, so it worked) but you could tell me was a lot more comfortable in his scenes with An Yi Xuan, who's 2 years older than him.
