Loners #2: The book has until it focuses on Mickey or Penny to sell me(and at least Mickey, in the little bit she was there, felt more like Mickey than she did last issue) but so far, it's not living up to expectations. This was a step up from the first issue, though, despite the fact that Spidergirl REALLY isn't endearing herself all that much.
Wolverine: Origins #14: Someone please tell me why it is that Savior, which involved one character(Jubilee) I cared about and one character(Omega Red) I've always at least found interesting completely sucked and didn't even really have enough of either character to make their appearances worth mentioning, yet the arc where I just forgot to cancel my subscription and whose only redeeming value with Daken(though I'm sure the character will be screwed up eventually) is not only decent, but actually has more of the guest stars than it does of Wolverine? *sighs and moves on*
Runaways #26: Ah Xavin, I did not realize I how much I liked you until PodXavin came along. Aside from a few pages, I'm not sure what the point of this issue was besides having Molly punch another big scary Marvel hero. I know Whedon's arc is supposed to be the second coming or something for Runaways, but so far I'm rather underwhelmed.
Cable & Deadpool #40: Dear Marvel, Skottie Young's art makes eyes want to bleed. Please stop using him for covers. You have a perfectly decent intereior artist, why not have him do covers, too? In other news, and X-Men crossover snuck up on me, so I was absolutely lost outside of Deadpool's bits.
52 #52: *that looks weird* I really wish it hadn't taken me that long to really get into 52, outside a few plotlines, as I really liked the last leg of it. Though, I'm really not sure about the return of the multiverse. Sure, the "only one reality" thing only lasted a couple years the first time, and some of the multiverse was DCs imprint titles, which I guess is OK, but it seems like DC could just be recreating the problem they went through all the trouble to fix the first time.
Blade of the Immortal #126: So nice to have the book back to it's standard of goodness now that Samura has mostly moved on from all the human experimentation(and now that Burando is completely bonkers, that part is slightly more interesting) It's interesting to see Rin be the mature, practical one. Sure, it's not COMPLETELY new for her(my personal opinion is that she's far more capable of taking care of herself than she usually seems to be, it's just that she's had such a rough time of it that she tends to want to be taken care of when there's someone around who will do so, even if she doesn't realize that's what she does) but I think this is the first time she's actually had to take care of someone and be the more intelligent and practical of the two. I understand she'll be kicking some serious butt pretty soon, which I'm very much looking forward to.
