[personal profile] dangermousie[personal profile] dangermousie! (and any other Elizabeth Peters fans)

I just read in an e-mail that it's rumored that Elizabeth Peters's next book is a Vicky Bliss book! John!

It's been...what...10 years?  (actually, given the events of the last book, it'd need to be several years later, but...)

*flails some more in hopes*

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really need another Vicky book. I like her Amelias but think she should have stopped with He Shall Thunder in the Sky

The titles blend together for me, but it should have ended after we learned Sethos's identity and there was a reconciliation of sorts between the brothers. A lot of what carried it was "who's sethos and why is he interested in them?"

(because, while there's no doubt he's always cared about amelia, some of his caring always seemed to be a way to stick it to emerson)

I'd also like another Jacqueline Kirby book(though I've never liked that set as much as amelia or vicky, but it was fun) or standalones...but i do think she needs a break from amelia. still, unlike most writers who stick with a character long after they should, at least her books managed to stay good.

Now if only it were solidly confirmed, as opposed to a rumor...

Vicky Bliss!!!!!!

Yay!!!!

I loved those books.

There was also a Jackie-something I loved. Hated the Amelia Peabody and only read a couple. Was sad when that's all she dedicated her time to writing.

Jacqueline Kirby. I like all her books as Elizabeth Peters, and I've had about a 50/50 success rate with the few Barbara Micaels books i've read.

I actually started reading her through the Amelia Peabodys and have always liked them, but agree she shouldn't have started writing JUST them...but then, that's often not the writer's choice.

I got into her by Barbara Michaels, actually. I devoured those when I was 18. I had less success with Elizabeth Peters.
