uhm...mostly I'm putting of Face to Fate because there are only 3 eps left and A) I don't want it to end, and B) I detect much angst between here and the happily ever after.

Plus, fantasy casting is fun.  (And we can play "who starred with Nakama Yukie where?"  uhm...2 don't count as most have seen one show and seen me endlessly babble about the other, in the context of the two of them)

Sunako:

If you've seen Nobuta wo Produce, you know that Horikita Maki basically WAS playing Sunako there, so she's the obvious choice:

Backup: Inoue Mao:

Kyohei:

Yamapi:

Takenaga:

Oguri Shun:

I would actually be interested in seeing either of those two in either role, but I knoe the second "Yamapi" and "Maki" are said in anything resembling the same breath, half my flist starts automatically shipping.

Ranmaru:

Hayami Mokomichi(he may not look it in stills, but watch Brother Beat and you can tell he'd be perfect)

Incidentally, all 3 of these guys are about a foot taller than Maki and Mao...

Yuki(the hardest of them all because I wanted someone pretty enough who'd take a more supporting role, even if he is one of the main characters):

Tegoshi Yuya:

Backup:

Koike Teppei:

Noi:

I actually can't decide between these two:

Aragaki Yui:

Toda Erica:

Sunako's Aunt:

Nakama Yukie:

And, since it's fantasy casting, I'd have the aunt's stream of boyfriends be actors Nakama Yukie has been paired with before, playing some degree of parody of  the same role:

Fujiki Naohito: cool and charismatic with more than a touch of enigma to him:

Matusmoto Jun: the wild, perpetually bored yet very intelligent younger man who thinks she's the only interesting thing around:

Odagiri Joe: the angsty brooder(hopefully with a nicer but equally selfless fate):

Matsuoka Masahiro: quiet and deadly:

Abe Hiroshi:charming oddball with a bit of an ego problem:

(wonders if anyone else will know everything that they all starred with her in)

I don't know what the manga is about, but I like the fantasy cast anyways? XDDDD;; And I know what Nakama Yukie has been in with Abe and MatsuJun, and I'm guessing you're referring to Shinobi with Odagiri Joe? 'Cause I don't think they've been together in anything else. D: And I don't know about the other two. >_>;;

Aaaaaaaaand, Erika Toda! Just because I've only seen Aragaki Yui in one ep. of her new drama. :/

Scratch the first part. o_________O

...WTFFFFFFFF. I watched this anime with my sister! XDDDDDD And I dunno if you watched it too and hated it, or if it follows the manga at all since I never read it. D:

I actually didn't finish watching all of the anime, only bits and pieces, but what I did watch was cute. I didn't know it had a different name, I always thought it was 'Yamato Nadeshiko Shichihenge'. XDDDDDD;;

Anyways, it's a pretty good cast, based on what I saw of the anime. ^^;;

I've seen about 10 eps(I believe it's been licensed, so I'm waiting so I can watch it on my TV) I liked it, but it's basically a watered down version of the manga, which is awesome.

"Wallflower" is what the manga was released as in the US(and the anime likely will be as well) but it's also known as "Perfect Girl Evolution," which is closer to the actual translation.

yup for Odagiri Joe...they also have a detective drama together that i'm told is good, but it was never subbed. Fujiki Naohito was her costar in the movie g@me, and Matsuoka Masahiro played Sasaki Kojiro in Musashi, and she playted his lover for a fair chunk of it(Abe Hiroshi was also there, but their character never met)

Waa, I have been thinking about the same thing. Who would be a perfect cast for Perfect Girl Evolution? And, as you said, since I saw Horikita Maki in Nobuta Wo Produce I thought she would be a perfect Sunako but I couldn't find any of the others guys... Now that you put it... I think that Tegoshi Yuya is perfect for Yuki as Yamapi is perfect for Kyohei. And Noi.. I just can't decide between Aragaki Yui and Toda Erica...

If I hadn't seen Brother Beat I NEVER would have been able to come up with a Ranmaru. Yuki is hard to cast because you have to find a guy that girls would wanna date but who still gives off the feeling of being incredibly sweet and can do a slight girlishness, given how often poor yuki is forced to crossdress.

Aragaki Yui can do the "cool, stylish, popular" girl and she does clever lines and such well, but Toda Erica has the giddy and energy and cute and I can see her fangirling easier...If we could just get Yui's presence and Erica's energy and combine them, we'd have the perfect Noi...

I like your choices, though I still think Takki would be perfect as Kyohei. And if you allow for some cross-casting, Lee Jun-Ki could make a great Ranmaru...

If I were to allow Lee Jun-Ki into the cast, it would be as Yuki...need a Yuki who can pass as a girl...

Is Takky tall enough? And can he do death glares?

Takki is pretty short, so that might be a problem. But he is very versatile and can do death glares while also being almost too pretty to be true, which I think is also a major requirement for anybody who would play Kyohei. He is supposed to be the one people travel around to look at, after all.

Tegoshi is very much girly enough to pass as a girl, while LJK can look girly, but also very manly and threatening as well (as proved by My Girl). I still haven't seen the first ep of Time Between Dog and Wolf , but I still think he'd make a great Ranmaru: playboy, but there, when needed.

Also, casting Tesshi as Yuki was just brilliant!!!

Wow! I'm impressed! Nakama Yukie would be absolutely perfect as would Maki and Yamapi! Inoue Mao may be just that bit tooooo cute and toooo quirky to pull it off... but i can totally see Maki in that role!

So, when are you going to write a letter to TBS or Fuji TV with your proposal!? :) i'd sign up as a co-petitionee!
