I already made posts for most of it, but...

(13) Legend of Evil Lake and (14) 100 Days With Mr. Arrogant got their own post, as did (16-17) Cowboy Bebop: Complete Collection and Cowboy Bebop: The Movie, as well as (20) R.O.D.: Read or Die: The TV: Complete Collection, leaving...

(15) Paris When It Sizzles-Another Audrey Hepburn movie, and another excellent one.  As Alex and Emma is obviously a remake of this, however loose a remake, I have to wonder if Greg Kinnear is subconsciously trying to be known for playing William Holden's roles in remakes.  While this one didn't leave as much of an impact on me as Sabrina or Roman Holiday, it was still great and is staying on my keeper shelf.

18) Magicians of Love-A Taiwanese series about straight hairdressers who must save the world and change lives through the power of good hairstyles.  I kid you not.  Great, cracky fun, though, like the other Taiwanese series I've seen, it would have benefitted from being trimmed down a few hours.  I large part of why I tend to migrate towards Japanese doramas instead of Taiwanese or Korean, though I also like those.

(19) Emma-The Gwyneth Paltrow version. While I prefer the Kate Beckinsale version(largely because Emma is shown as growing and changing there, whereas she doesn't do as much here) I quite liked this one.  Largely because, like the recent Pride and Prejudice(which I adore beyond reason) there's a considerable emphasis on the language and dialogue, and also because of Jeremy Northam, who really needs to do more period movies(has he done any besides this one and An Ideal Husband?) Not as good as the Beckinsale version, but still very good, and recommended.

Currently watching: GTO anime-not the instant love I felt for the live action version a while back, and the animation annoys me at times, but good.  Hopefully my doramas will get here really soon so I can watch the rest of Emperor of the Sea.  Those 2 and a coupla movies are the goal for the week.

He's also in a period role in Possession (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0256276/) which is set in both the Victorian times and the modern era. He plays a poet who falls with a poetess played by Jennifer Ehle (Elizabeth in P&P). I liked the movie, but the book by A. S. Byatt is even better.

And checking IMDB showed that he has also appeared in the Juliette Binoche/Ralph Fiennes version of The Wuthering Heights, where he plays Hindley Earnshaw, The Golden Bowl with Kate Beckinsale and probably several more. And it seems he's going to be playing Sir Thomas More in an upcoming tv-series called The Tudors.

oh those Taiwanese dramas! lol.

I really enjoy GTO anime later on, but it's mostly because of certain "moments" where it makes you feel like it's worth watching. But I think this is the case where the drama just beats out the anime/manga.

yeah...I finished it yesterday(and have resumed endlessly obsessing about Emperor of the Sea) I liked but didn't love the first half, but got pretty into it the second half. I think the thing that really, really kept me from getting into it was Azusa. While I liked her, she was far too passive and not the sheer awesome from the drama. I didn't really care about her and Onizuka as OTP here, whereas I was constantly squealing over them in the drama.

So, while I liked it well enough, it just didn't compare to my obsessive love of the drama.

yeah the dorama was so good. I think the cast was fantastic too. It wasn't too over the top and annoying. I agree that Azusa's character was much better (and more important) in the dorama. It was so cute that those two actors got married. Awww...

I know, it makes me want to see them in another drama...in my world, he's Tsubaki's hubby in HYD and event hough it's an arranged marriage courtesy of the evil mother, they've made it work.

In the anime, azusa wasn't OTP so much as the one he hit on slightly moreregularly than the others...and unlike drama Azusa, he(and students) would always walk all over her. And I liked how, in the drama, she was the only teacher the students liked, whereas in the anime, she was just another teacher.

I really like that in the dorama that he liked her from the start instead of just flirting with everyone. They had so much chemistry together.

Sad to say they probably won't make too many dorama's together. He got a really bad reputation with all the news about him cheating on her. Ugh. That always depresses me. His popularity really went downhill after that

Yeah, he still hit on and looked at other women, but it was clear she wasthe only one h was really interested in, she just wasn't giving him an inch.

He cheated on her? That makes me really sad. Of course, it's(kinda perversely) nice that cheating made popularity drop, instead of go up as seems to be the case with Hollywood.

are they still together, or did they break up?

They are still together and have a daughter too. He's always known as a playboy and he was living with another actress when they first got together. Lots of people told Nanako not to date him too but they still end up together. Makes me sad because I really like Nanako.

Japanese people don't really put up with stuff like cheating. I remember reading that just because of the author of Death note got pulled over and the police realize that he had a pocket knife attach to his key chain (he just went camping). They arrested him and going to charge him. I think Japan is one of the country you don't have to do anything bad in! lol

Yeah, I've heard a lot about the Japanese in that regard(makes you wonder how on earth school kids are so horrible, based on dramas)

I really like her as an actress, too(and from what little I've heard, she seems to be cool in RL, too) I have Toshiie to Matsu, which has bother ofthem, but I haven't watched it yet because i know she's with another guy.

Lots of friends told me that the school kids were never that bad, bullying is never like that extreme either. The teacher in Japan is quite abusive though.

I never saw Toshiie to Matsu, I'm not too much into Japanese period piece unless it's about ninjas. I might have to watch it later though just because it has so many great actors in it

I adored Musashi and liked Satomi Hakkenden quite a bit, but they're the only Japanese period dramas I've seen...in addition to Toshiie to Matsu, I have Oh Oku and Shinsengumi also waiting.
