No really, it will. It is so giddy and chipper and energetic that it should make you want to rip your eardrums out to escape, yet it's bizarrely appealing and addictive. VERY addictive...I think the last song I listened to over and over that was absurdly giddy and hyper yet too addictive for my own good was the opening theme to the Spiral anime.

Date: 2007-08-15 04:17 pm (UTC)Umeda really threw me at first but I got hopelessly addicted to him fairly quickly. And that way he's always using his one hand to flick his bangs across the other side of his face.
(Try watching this & then Tokyo Juliet for the first time. I could not take him or Wu Zun seriously after seeing them in HanaKimi first. Wu Zun went from somewhat withdrawn/suave to total dork & Umeda from gay doctor of wacky sophistication to designer playboy? *mind explodes just remembering the shock*)

Umeda wants her & Wu Zun's evil Daddy trys to help him (via kidnapping & attempted/forced seduction). But he genuinely cares for her so things work out & they end up good friends so he pops up constantly throughout the series helping out.
His hair is a curly mop & he acts like a totally confident player. Very fun character & one of my favorites in the series. - You should definitely check it out. He first shows up in, I think it's episode 3....
