FYI, I am a canon nazi, so most anti-canon or anti-character fic tends to fall into "bad fic" for me...save for bizarrely cracky AUs.

I'm off at 5. XD But I think I've hit the limit of whatever I can do usefully, and shall spend the rest of the time spastically reloading LJ, unless someone arrives at my door with more website edits. XD

I tend to be a canon nazi too, most especially when it comes to character. If someone's being written out-of-character, it grates on my nerves. :)

Oh yes...I read books for canon...I mean, not JUST for canon, but if I don't like canon, I don't like the book.

One thing I especially hate is when the female characters(it's usually the female characters) gets completely butchered, as seems to be the most popular thing to do. Like...I get not liking a character(for example, I love Yuya in SDK but I seem to remember you saying you didn't) but why not just NOT include them instead of writing them OOC and completely unlikable, or, better, try to find something you like about them. *has possibly been eternally scarred against any SDK fic except short Hotaru crackfic*

Yeah, Yuya's problem for me is that she's just too much of the shounen-heroine stereotype. I like her better as it goes on and it's acknowledged that she's the linchpin holding the group together, but for most of it, until it's shown how she manages to push others to excel, her primary function is to be what I call "The Guy Who Says 'What?'" - the audience-analogue that allows the characters to explain what's going on without breaking the fourth wall.

I haven't dared read any SDK fic yet. I'm currently mired in the Bleach morass. I've managed to find some fic that seems to nail Kenpachi, but it bothers me that I haven't read anything that does Yumichika right, to my CORRECT way of thinking. But I think he's hard to write - he's appearance-obsessed, but also a member of the 11th, the division that's closest to a street gang, and good enough to be 4th seat (though he stays at 5th, because the number's prettier). Every fic I've come across featuring him so far errs on the side of way, way too camp, IMHO.

Yes, I can see why others don't like her, though most seem to eventually like her to some degree, and I wouldn't mind as much if they made her dumb9I don't think she is, obviously, but can see why they would) but no, they make her a psycho shrieking harridan who has to be pried off a random cast member.

The idea of Bleach fanfic scares me...just like Naruto and InuYasha...I guess because the anies are never ending...

LJ was immensely dead today. Someone pointed out it's because one of the resident fandom psychos showed up on Fandom Wank and well, they were having a party over there but only a couple people on my flist hang out there! I was sad. :(
