I am possibly scouring the internet to do a Princess Bride post similar to yesterday's Willow post.

In the process, I learned that apparently there are still those who believe there is a "real" version of the Princess Bride book and want to read it...uhm...I thought Goldman stated multiple times YEARS ago that such a thing did not exist...

I also stumbled across this website, which is devoted to...uhm...movies that feature male torture and bondage.  While I was not brave enough to do more than snag their Westley strapped to the torture device pic, there are a few on my f-list who I suspect would have great fun there.

*goes back to grabbing pics*

*looks sheepish* Up until I bought a copy of the book about three weeks ago, I thought there was an "original" copy of the book.

Yes, but I'm sure you saw a lovely disclaimer and went "oh, I see" as opposed to reading it multople times and researching and researching and insisting there MUST be an "original" version.

LOL! It's funny how many people go for that! While I was fishing around for Saiyuki fics, I found that someone had written one on request from a second person, who "wanted Gojyo tied up ... don't we all?"

(My thought was, "usually not, but let's see what you do with it ... .")

All those chains and blood pics have warped Saiyuki fan's views...

(though if it came with a gag for Gojyo, I doubt Sanzo would mind...)

He does an excellent job trying to convince you it's a real book, though. I loved the constant editorial interjections. And the part where from the book were Buttercup & Wesley finally meet & he claims he wrote a scene but wasn't allowed to include it - he says the publisher agreed to mail it to anyone who asked so I wrote in for it. I figured I'd probably get the exact scene from the movie but what the heck. And in reply, I got the most hysterical letter about how he couldn't mail the scene as the society for the preservation of the original author's works was causing legal problems, etc. It was hilarious. I should dig that letter out & share it with you.

Oh yes, in the book he does it marvelously and he carried it on for years, but he's been pretty open about it for a long time now nd I think all the edition the last few years state that there's no "real" version, and when you insist there must be after that...
