Gggggrrrrrraaaaarrrrrrrggggghhhhhh...Explorer DIED when I was almost finished w/ this and LJ did not autosave.  I am displeased.

Much more briefly than originally:  W Juliet is one of only 2 highschool romance shojo manga I have managed to read in its entirety(barring short series.)  The other is Mars.  Most of these series I start out loving and then get annoyed with and the angst tends to make me want to bang the protagonists' heads together and tell them to just get their acts together already.  Hana Kimi, Fruits Basket and Wallflower do not count  as they are incomplete(here) though I don't see myself dropping any of them before they're finished(plus, I don't think any of the 3 really count as high school/romance shojo anyway, they just have heavy romantic themes).  I guess I need death, magic, period costumes, insane humor, or whatever to go with my romance most of the time.

Instead of redoing the brief series description I did before it was STOLEN by LJ and the internet, here's a link to the brief series overview I did when the first series ended.

I originally had many pertinent things to say, but I shall just post on 3 things from these chapters(with pics) in hopes that I shall finish in time to watch the first ep of season 2 of Supernatural before bed.

This is Ito's oldest brother, Ryuuya and his American fiancee, Chris.

Chris's parents Disapprove because Ryuuya is not an indian.  No I did not make that up.  Yes they have strange reasons.  You must read it to find out what they are.

This is Ryuuya and Chris's unwise response to the Disapproval:

Chris-Papa's response to that is kidnapping:

It is not received well.

At all.

As always when such things happen in W Juliet, I'm rather surprised no one was killed.

Chris, however, does not know what "damsel in distress" means in English, much less Japanese:

She has also seen far, far too many samurai movies and dramas:

This is almost immediately followed by falling out the window, followed by Ryuuya diving out after.  As this is a fluffy shojo romance where peoplke do not die, there is a very convenient pool below, resulting in cuddling instead of funerals.

Of course, concerned relatives may feel compelled to interrupt.

Fortunately, few things say "I'm good enough for your daughter" better than jumping out a window after her.

Then, of course, there are our leads.  Makoto is becoming a popular model and actor, resulting in a bitchy manager who thinks he has to appear to be single to be popular.

These faces are the reaction to that little display of inhumanity:

Then one day, Bitchy Manager makes the Fatal Mistake of being mean to Ito.

No one informed BM that Makoto has traumatized people for life for such things.

There are those who will never recover from their punishment for doing less.

Of course, the worst thing he could do to her is announce that he's a happily married man on national TV and thus ruin her career.

Except fully revealing the truth would unleash hordes of fangirls on poor Ito, so he shows them as picture of their dog and everyone think's that's who he meant(once BM is suitably terrified before that, of course)

BM is just lucky that protecting Ito ranks just above destroying anyone who's mean to her.  But I doubt she'll ever be brave enough to be mean again.

Ito is pretty much oblivious to the eternal scarring that occurs on her behalf.

Also, I have shipped this almost from the start of W Juliet.

I'm not sure why, as he's a rude, crass, obnoxious jerk, a complete idiot and completely undeserving of such a sweet girl.  I blame Samurai Deeper Kyo.

Maybe it's because Toki's tall enough to do this anytime someone is mean to Nobuko.

He also does this every chance he gets.

Then there's that whole inferiority complex thing he has sometimes...

I shall end with "aaaawwwwwwwww"

I shall now go ponder the mystery of why I have no W Juliet icons...

I love W Juliet & was so thrilled when I heard Emura had started a 2nd series. It looks great - more squee-worthy moments between all the OTPs!

It's W Juliet...it exists for squeeworthy moments between OTPs. Only thing that saddened me was that we barely saw Yuto and Akane.

I just love the way Makoto(and Yuto, when he's around) just go out and destroy entire lives for hurting their girls' feelings.

Now if it'd just get LICENSED...

I'm sure it will happen but probably not till there's more story.

Or until it's finished. I get the feeling the second series won't be as long as the first.

Probably not. After all, there's not a countdown to a particular event like there was in the first. (graduating)

Have you read these chapters yet?

I suspect it'll only last through the movie and the ceremony. I'm just glad we get a little more and that it works without the required crossdressing(I was worried it wouldn't work as well)

I've read the first couple.

I suspect the same thing. And it's kinda nice that the cross-dressing isn't so required anymore.
