They have recast(a whole 8 or 9 years ago but hey, I'm new to the series...) Teal'c's wife in Stargate SG-1.  This displeases me,  I want Salli Richardson back.

I have also realized that of the 4 main characters, one has a wife he can see once every year ort or, and only under dire circumstances, and the other's wife is all mising an posesed.  This leaves only Carter and O'Neill left to be randomly paired off for the next 8 1/2 seasons.  Unless they do some wife killing.

BTW, when does Claudia Black show up?  I know it's later in the series, but I'm curious.

ETA:  What were 2 ep 8-9 anyway?  Long Lost Wives reunion weeks?  A kis here a cuddle there and off to another year or two of separation angst.  I feel the only way they could have capitalized on ep 9 more was to have Daniel raise the baby his wife bore the Evil Go'auld Overlord(againjst her will, naturally)  At least Teal'c can occasionally find an excuse for a conjugal visit(if he, you know, ever learns how to think selfishly...) *cuddles the poor woobies*

I think she shows up a couple times in season 8, and joins the cast for seasons 9-10.

Uh, just a curious question; have you seen the movie? I used to follow the series like, 5 or so years ago when it was running over here...

Assuming you're talking about the same Salli Richardson that I THINK you're talking about, she's in Eureka. :)

I really need to start watching the early seasons of SG-1, especially since I have the first four seasons sitting on the shelf waiting for me...

It is, indeed, that Salli Richardson. I was very, very pleased to see her as a main character in Eureka.

My grand total of "Stargate" episodes watched remains at two, despite serious attempts at borrowing the first series (at least). Did enjoy the episodes I watched though. Unfortunately I never got around to watching it when it was on TV because the publicity for the original movie completely failed to appeal to me.

I thought the movie was fun but not amazing, but I love the series.

It's really fun reading your posts as you watch Star Gate as I've been addicted for a few years now. Wait till you get to Star Gate: Atlantis! I liked SG1 but toward the end everything changed & I got pissed & quit watching. Hubby just finished watching the last season, though, so he didn't mind. I've switched to an Atlantis fan - all the fun of Star Gate (team dynamics, etc.) plus a beautiful city instead of an underground bunker & bad guys who are truly unique.

Hmmm...changed how? (it'll be a long time until I get there...I only have S1-4, and won't have more until I find them cheap)

I think it's around the 8th season - they kill off a side character I was attached to, transfered out Gen Hammond, took O'Neil off the team to lead Star Gate command & introduced a new horrible enemy before they had finished dealing with the old one. It all added up to too much frustration for me. I quit watching after O'Neil left the team - he may still be there but SG1 isn't SG1 if the actual team has a different composition.

(Oh - & try K-Mart, they frequently have those shows a little cheaper...)

I highly disapprove of transferring out Hammond. I wonder if O'Neill's change had more to do with Anderson's age than anything else.

Sadly, no k-mart here, but I stalk wal-mart and amazon.

Possibly. It could also have been because Davis left the show?

I just read a synopsis on wikipedia & I think I will go ahead & watch the rest of the show after all. I'm starting to hate not knowing what happens. And apparantly there are at least 2 dvd movies in the works?!

RDA was bored stiff playing Jack, actually. Seasons 7 and 8 it's incredibly apparent that he hates being there. Season 8 actually makes me hate Jack, a lot, because he's just so very bored.

Hmm...I can see how playing Jack could get really bored, actually. I suspect smart alecks eventually annoy their portrayers.
