This has been going around for a few days, but it only just registered maybe 10 minutes ago.

They're doing a jdrama of Rumiko Takahashi's One Pound Gospel.  So...weird.  Now, I like Rumiko Takahashi.  I'm very fond of Ranma 1/2 and Inu Yasha(which some will recall my having a serious fangirl craze over some time back, which I can sometimes be convinced to slip back in to) as well as her Mermaid Saga books.  I like Maison Ikkoku, though I eventually gave up on it because it was rather meandering, and in a dragging way, not an entertaining one, and thought the bit of Lum that I read was fun.

But One Pound Gospel?  I admit, I looked for it back when I was binging on Ranma 1/2 and Inu Yasha, but it was more of a cursory thing, and the books were hard to find at the time(a large part of why I only ever read one volume of Lum.)

Now I read and watch a LOT of stuff that's out there, but this is something that's "out there" on a whole other level.  OPG is about a binge-eating boxer who...falls in love with a nun.  Somehow, it breaks my mind.  The fact the Kamenashi "Kame" Kazuya, one of the skinniest and least tough-looking JE Boys out there is playing him breaks my mind even more.

Somehow, this both scares and fascinates me.

Yeah. The manga description itself is kinda "uhm...ok...that's a bit odd but kinda interesting sounding" and then you learn Kame's in the lead and it's "HUH??"

I think it took me a bit to register what it was because by brain was just going "Oh, Kame has a new drama, cool. I'll check it out if it seems good" and not really paying attention to what it was, and then I DID notice and my brain froze.
