Cable & Deadpool #46: Deadpool vs FF is THE BEST FIGHT IN SUPERHERO COMICS IN YEARS! And FANTASTICAR! And never before has endless pontificating on time travel been bith funny and interesting. In the world of comic books, Fabian nicieza is my personal hero and owner of the fagirl portion of my sou. But you knew that already.
Trials of Shazam #8-9: Judd Winick, however, is not, though he's vastly improved fromt he days I read his work and wondered why on Earth people liked him so much. STill, there's something wrong when 2 issues stuffed with Greek mythology and a nearly issue-long swordfight don't get more than a "that was good" reaction from me.
Captain America #28-31: I don't know if Ed Brubaker can't make relationships interesting or just can't write interestign female characters or what. I mean, I've always liked Black Widow and I have no problems with Sharon Carter(I just wish so much of the series didn't revolve around her...she's like Lana in Smallville, only without the whiny primadonna self-centered-ness that turns Lana from annoying to despised) but I don't find them, or their relationships with Bucky and Cap, remotely interesting here. I don't care for Cyn at all, but then, I'm not supposed to, so she doesn't count. Still, this is easily Marvel's second best superhero comic right now(the best being C&D, of course) even without it's title character. A pity, though, that I doubt Marvel is really willing to go as far as they want us to think(Bucky going after Stark, and the end of #31.)
