Yes, Quesada, even George R.R. Martin, who is so far above you that you can't even see him, is pooh-pooh-ing your erasing Spider-man/MJ from continuity just so you can make Peter be a manslut you can live vicariously through.

Do you read scans_daily? It's been chock-full of Quesada rants. (My favorite response to the brouhaha would have to be this post (http://community.livejournal.com/scans_daily/4749490.html), although it's probably a lot funnier if you know the original Watchmen scene that's been 'shopped...)
