Date: 2008-02-24 02:15 am (UTC)Gunlock...how far have you read in the manga? It's not particularly spoilery; there are a LOT of non-manga filler episodes this time around, when it does bother to stick to the manga continuity it kind of sort of follows up to the very beginning of the stuff with Hazel...and then it goes waaaaaaaaaay off into left field. Hazel and Gato here, compared to in the manga, are vastly less interesting (I particularly hate hate hate what the anime did with Gat, who is my favorite woobie undead anime Indian...ok, so he's the only one, details details!). The animation is also just painfully inconsistent -- yes, even more so than the two previous series. When it's good, it's not much better than mediocre, and when it's bad, it's downright HORRIBLE. I'd really only recommend it if you're a desperate Saiyuki completist, or you feel like mocking cheesy filler scripts and sloppy art.

Date: 2008-02-24 04:30 am (UTC)Big O has an intriguing premise which goes nowhere.
Saiyuki Gunlock is apparently hilariously bad.
I haven't seen the others.
