 1)  The Firekeeper books turn my thumbs black.  EVERY SINGLE ONE.  They have not been so black so often since I was reading the A Song of Ice and Fire books last year.

2)  Thanks to ABC family's playing them and their not-so-great commercials non-stop, I now utterly despise the show Wildfire and the Bring It On movies.  This is not the fault of either show, but of ABC's drowning me in them.

3)  I am deeply amused that two of the most ship-obsessed fandoms I have dipped my toes into are Avatar and Saiyuki...which, to me, are among the most unshippy things ever.  One because of the ages of many of the characters, the other because TOO! MUCH! ANGST! DO! NOT! PROCESS! with most of the characters.

 4) Bourne.

n't as good as the ASOIAF books, but they're a pretty good series. Click the "firekeeper" or "jane lindskold" tags.

Avatar ships... oh dear Lord. Let's just say, taking into consideration that I am not only old enough to be the mother of any or all of the four teenage characters but also have two young children of my very own who love the show, that either reading OR writing practically any conceivable Avatar fic is not on my to-do list. >_>

The fact that the central shipwar revolves around the 12 year old lead, his 14 year old crush and the 16 year old enemy prince(who has, in the first 2 seasons, had only 3 scenes with her, only 1 of which I'd consider to have significant interaction) is something that I will never be able to process. Suki/Sokka I'm perfectly fine with, as they're both fairly mature 15 year olds, but that's as far as I go(I understand there's another canon pairing in s3...I like both characters involved, but have no idea what i'll think of them as an item.)

And...seriously...what does the world have against gen? Why must it always be shipping? And why must the shipping always seem to revolve around sex? OK, I'm not 100% innocent of that myself, but...)

Firekeeper is the name of the lead in Jane Lindskold's Wolf series. You can find info under "firekeeper" or "jane lindskold" tags.

It's not my favorite series ever, but it's pretty good(based on 2 3/4 books)

I'm assuming that Wildfire is not the old cartoon about the girl and her horse...

...

No, it is a live action, soap opera-ish thing with iffy acting about a girl and her horse.

Apparently, based on said cartoon.

Please tell me that neither one is based on the 70's folk-rock song of the same name...

Is it about some girl who apparently has every cute guy in town pining away for her, but is instead all about her horse?

I worried about that when I saw the name and the subject matter.

It could be worse: for my sins, I suffered being shown a movie based on "Convoy"; and I vaguely recall there was also a movie made of "Harper Valley PTA"...
