This volume focused mostly on Kyoko trying to figure out what to do and how to act in her first major drama role.  With her playing the Evil Other Woman and Ren as the star, I suspect people are going to suspeect the hero secretly loves the wrong woman.

It may be generic for shounen and shoujo heroines to always want to help everyone, but Kyoko's need to help the director overcome his inferiority complex and her anger at seeing others talk smack about him are much more pertinent than they are in most of these girls, as Kyoko herself has a major complex that she's still getting over.

Her interpretation of Mio-someone who's traditionally considered to be shy and introverted as someone with a cold pride is interesting.  The traditional Mio, of course, is basically an evil version of who kyoko used to be, but the new one?  I have to wonder anout that.  It certainly isn't what Kyoko wants to be.  I also have to wonder what kind of lead Ren will come up with.

It's also charming how much Kyoko is coming to look up to and rely on Ren, almost a form of hero worship, though not to the degree she seems to have towards Kanae.  Ren, of course, continues on, blithely unaware of his feelings, despite his manager's constant hints.  (And poor Kyoko was too busy fretting about creating her own Mio to hear the manager's declaration of Ren's love.)

Sole downside:  No Kanae outside of a flashback.

Also, what's with Sho's devil outfit, anyway?  It's like Kougaiji went goth.
