Ok, fine, no seekrit sex in monastery warehouses this time.
But Il Perrotto the Skeevy did do the "let me attempt rape like a romance novel villain" bit. Naturally, there was a Chiaro in his way.
Meanwhile, Volpe takes out his jealousy on Chiaro. Does he not see the downsides of a Chiaro-less Cesare? The spasms? The chest clutching? (Possibly the looking out a window and sighing?) THE FREAKING DEMON ARM?!?!?!?!!??! That Cesare HAS VOLPE CHOP OFF!!! AND THEN REGROWS!!!
Oh, and Volpe hugs Cesare so he'll get poisoned blood all over him because he can't live without Cesare, but Cesare forbids him to die and tells him no one can replace Chiaro. I kinda feel for Volpe, even if he is an ass.
BUT DID I MENTION THAT CESARE REGROWS HIS ARM?!??!?!
Chiaro also finally figures out how Cesare feels about him, not that anyone could miss it. Unfortunately for Cesare, he's still too busy pining over Lucrezia WHO HE THEN RUNS AWAY WITH!!! That one I was not expecting. Chiaro does much, much angsting over the whole "loving LUcrezia is betraying Cesare" bit.
Meanwhile, Cesare sure is going around calling Lucrezia "pure" a lot, even after learning about the warehouse sex. Methinks he has a sister complex to match the brother complex, just in another form. And better hid.
Also, Lucrezia gets taken hostage and bites the guys arm. I cheered. Lucrezia gets attacked AGAIN and stabs him to save Chiaro. I cheered again. I am so proud of our resident damsel in distress.
But the massive loads of angst building up, I feel them preparing to explode.
ALSO!!! No Sancia or Mothman Monk this volume. It made me sad.
