kdrama: Hansungbyulgok aka Seoul's Sad Song

So, somewhere amongst Capital Scandal, Legend, and Hong Gil Dong(aka-the dramas all the cool kids have been watching and telling me to watch, a little 8 episode period kdrama called Hansungbyulgok, or Seoul's Sad Song(which, by the way, is what it shall be called here) got lost in the shuffle. Here is how drama wiki describes it:

Lee Na Young Kim Ha Eun was trained to be an assassin after bing rescued from servitude when her high ranking father was convicted of treason. Her childhood sweetheart Park Sang Kyu Jin Yi Han who had returned from studying abroad and worked as a government official was looking all over for her. So did her former servant Yang Man Oh Lee Chun Hee who had become the leader of the merchant group. The three got entangled in a conspiracy against the Emperor who was determined to carry out reforms to create a new Korea whereby the class system would be eliminated.

ASSASSIN HEROINE! CONSPIRACIES!!! CHILDHOOD LOVE AS ONLY PERIOD KDRAMAS CAN DO IT!!!

Sure, the plot seems to pretty much guaranteed that they'll all die very prettily and dramatically, but it should be fun getting there.

I was interestetd in it when I heard of it, but it came out at about the same time as Capital Scandal and Legend, so I never saw any subs for it or saw any buzz about it, and I figured that it'd be one of those period dramas I'd never get to see. Such is fate.

BUT!!

I recently discovered a website that has slightly better prices on some dramas than my regular person, and was looking for something cheap to test them out on(no proper infusion of dramas until after a-kon, I suspect) and stumbled across it. So, YAY! Mind you, I suspect they will be the Chinese release English subs, so whether or not I'll be able to understand them is debatable, but I'll cross my fingers.

(And as a side note: I am almost wholly unspoiled for Legend and Capital Scandal. I am spoiled for the ending of Hong Gil Dong-I peeked when there was very vocal reaction to it, and it had the exact ending I predicted once the first couple episodes were out-but nothing else. I wish to remain spoiler free.)

ETA: from what I remember, I heard decent things about CitC subs.

Yeah, I thought I remembered you posting on it before it came out. It looks really good(but another vid really did suggest Damo mark 2) and there are actually a pretty decent number of vids up at youtube. I think it just got lost among the higher profile Capital Scandal(actually the one of the lot-as in, period kdramas I haven't seen yet-I'm most interested in) and Legend.

Hopefully, i'll have this one by mid this week. (BTW, what version of Jumong did you get? The person I got this from has a 20 disc set, and if this works out, I'm wondering if I should risk the subs.)

soompi seems divided as to whether it lived up to the Damo feel, or wasn't very good. We'll see.
