Step 1:  Purchase A-Kon ticket(no A-Kon, I do not want a T-Shirt I will never wear again after that weekend.  I am sure this will make me a freak, but if I change my mind, I'll let you know.)

Step 2:  Pay through Paypal.

Step 3:  Check e-mail.

Step 4:  SEE FOUR ORDER CONFIRMATIONS!!!

Step 5:  Panic.

Step 6:  Log into paypal.

Step 7:  Breathe again at seeing only one payment made.

DO NOT DO THINGS LIKE THAT TO ME, INTERNET!!!!

P.S. No matter how hot it is outside, pack a light jacket or hoodie or something like that. If you end up hanging around the artist alley with us, it can sometimes get quite cold. :)

Ok(perhaps I could stash it somewhere?) I doubt I'll be able to take enough spending money to be trusted doing much out and about if there isn't a panel I want to see going on, so I figure I likely will be hanging out with you a good bit.

(For that matter, you mentioned dinner one night...do I need to see if there's anything in my wardrobe that isn't jeans and t-shirt?)

No prob, you can stash it behind my table. :D

(Nope! My friends are all gamer geeks and wear nothing *but* jeans and t-shirts at A-Kon. And even though it's downtown, most of the restaurants are incredibly casual because god forbid anyone be expected to dress up in Texas.)

Hey, when I went to Houston on a work trip a few years ago, we were told that "jeans and t-shirt" thing, and then found out that a restaurant we'd been recced didn't allow that dresscode in the evenings...

(So we went to an awesometastic Italian place called Mirabella's with a gorgeous view and wonderful service instead and figured we'd lucked out.)

:D Well, 99% of restaurants are OK with jeans and t-shirts. XD

I swear...I went to the "purchase membership" page and thought I went to the wrong place because ALL I SAW WAS T-SHIRTS!!!

And I can't find a listing on panels for the life of me, but that one's probably my general inability to find anything except sales on the internet.

My first convention will be an adveture, won't it?

Don't expect a panel listing until the last minute, really. Last year I found out I was on a panel, inexplicably, only when a friend of mine who was not A-Kon staff came up to me on Friday and said "Hey! I wanna go to your panel!"

Yes. Yes, it will.

Wow...you mean our Megan is going to an anime convention?! She's growing up! ;)

I've thought several times about going to A-Kon, but never have. Now, it would probably be the most affordable one for me to go to.

Somehow, though, it doesn't seem like it would be as fun "just" going to Dallas, if you know what I mean. Going to Baltimore and Otakon always seems like vacation.

So who will you be dressing up as? ;D

I swear I've mentioned A-Kon once or twice before.

I shall be going as myself.

Heh...I thought you would say that.

And you may have mentioned A-Kon, but if it was behind a cut, I probably missed it. Sometimes I barely take the time to skim through current f-list posts, so I have missed stuff on occasion.

From what I've heard, A-Kon is a pretty good con, not up to Otakon or Anime Expo, but it has to be better than Ushicon in Austin was.
