I know many are squeeing like crazy over spoilers that came out at the NYCC.  I am very, very happy for you.  I'm sure I'll squee when I watch the episodes.  However, while I realize there are certain spoilers you just can't avoid, I do like to stay relatively unspoiled.  So do a lot of other people.

So please, please, please, enough with the:

AND JET AND KATARA ARE HUGGING!!! YAY!!!!

posts without lj cuts.  LJ cuts are beautiful things.  Please use them.

NOTE:  This is a made up spoiler.  I know nothing of Jet and any future episodes.  Those who know me and Jet know I will be  happy if we never see him and his little twig again.  Also, if he does show up and hug Katara, I sincerely hope she bathes with every disinfectant known to man immediately after.

(Seriously, I see about 10 posts a day on the spoilers that do use cuts, and it's lovely to see the squee without also seeing the spoilers, but I'm also seeing about 2 a day with spoilers on display, some of which take up 2-3 screens.)

ETA:  I guess I should have made it "Jet and Toph are hugging!" instead, just to make it obviously absurd.

I know you know my position on this, but I just want to say WORD.

Also, when I saw the caps, I thought it was a real spoiler and said, "FUCK." really intensely and then started laughing and now I'm in trouble with my mother for using language that is Not Appropiate For Young Ladies.

(Also, you're a better person than I am - I am getting damn sick of having half my flist be squeeing that I can't look at, and I'm super bitter about the 'unavoidable spoilers' I wasn't able to avoid.)

Please, if I were to post a real spoiler, it would be one I liked, not one I'd hate. (Though it is pretty much word-for-word some of them that I've seen, only with different names.)

I suspect it's worse on your end, because you're actually in the Avatar fandom and, like most things I'm a fan of, I more just have people on my f-list who are fans/in the fandom.

Yeah, this is one of those times when it's easier not to be in the fandom. Thank god for the femmeslash meme; that helps balance out a lot of the suckier aspects of the fandom right now.

Really, every couple years I want to get into fandoms more, so I do, and then...well, please observe the ranting meltdown a couple months back.

At least this time, the excursion resulted in a fair number of new friends all over the map.

Well, maybe there'll be more soon-ish? Later-ish? The problem is that when I rant, my f-list is diverse enough that there will be SOMEONE who thinks it's about them, even if it isn't meant that way, and when I distance myself enough, I can see why.

Oh my God, I couldn't agree more. I've managed to avoid spoilers so far, but it has been a close call a couple of times. I'm glad people are excited and all, but I want to wait to see the episodes myself before knowing anything. I don't think that is so much to ask.

Exactly. Since I pretty much only ever follow anything on DVD, I realize I'm going to be spoiled by people talking about things that have happened recently in what's out. I don't mind that and realize it isn't deliberate. But there's a huge difference between that and screaming the spoilers all over the place.
