It's been a while since I read the last volume(sometime last year, I think) so my memories are a bit fuzzy, but I forgot how much fun this series is.  Since this is the next-to-last volume, we also get the build up to some of the mysteries in the series being revealed, such as Misty Rain's origins, the Sea Witch's plans for Sirius, what happened to Hanbit's aunt and The Great Lord of Darkness (I still giggle at that name) and people start to get their act together.  We also get more mythology coming into play, including a retelling of the mythical birth of Jumong(somehow, I doubt the sageuk went with the version where Haemosoo is the God of the Sky and impregnates Yoohwa with an egg that later hatches into Jumong.)

Now that Misty Rain has her memories back, she has to start making decisions about what she's going to do with herself, including about Sirius.  Sirius, meanwhile, has to grow up, calm down, and be more responsible as all his decisions in the past are catching up with him.  Combined, it's enough to force both characters to grow up enough that I can finally see their romance working.  Don't get me wrong, I'm not reading this for the romance, but I was having a hard time seeing this as something where Misty Rain would eventually appreciate Sirius as a whole, or care for him as much as he does for her, or where Sirius would grow up and become mature enough to grow out of a schoolboy crush on her.

Meanwhile,  Mira Lee seems to be leading up to a revelation that Misty Rain is the daughter of The great Lord of Darkness and Hanbit's aunt, and that the Sea Witch and Hanbit's aunt were very much Not Friends(I think I detect a scorned lover.)  It also looks like we're leading up to a climax with Misty Rain invading the Dokebi lands again to get Sirius's soul back.  I approve of this.
