 1.  I crave dumplings.  This may require a side trip to the sole little Korean place in town(I have yet to try one of their main dishes that I find to be more than "ok," but i love their dumplings.)  This could be dangerous, as that is across the street from my preferred Used Book Store.  (And not even the busy street that they're both just off of, but the side street that never has any traffic.)

2.  I woke up from sleep this morning hearing knocking.  Except that I KNEW the knocking wasn't really, but a leftover from my dream or some such, because knocking on my door doesn't sound like that.  But I went to go check anyway.

3.  Last night, The Boys were wondering how people kept themselves entertained before there was internet.  At the time, I didn't have internet up because I was reading, and they didn't have internet up because they were watching The Closer.  (Which I think I might have to check out one of these days...opinions?)

The Closer is WONDERFUL. Possibly my favorite TV show and the only "procedural" I watch.

I think what made it jump out at me(most of the stuff they watch, I just glaze over because we have very different tastes, especially when it comes to humor) was that they seemed to be pulling off the "bitchy but cute and absolutely adorable" character type well, something I don' think primetime TV has really been able to do well outside of Cordy in Buffy. ("Bitchy and awesome" and "bitchy but still nice" aren't really rare, but "bitchy and adorable"? A little different.)

I tried the Closer a few times but couldn't get into it (for the same reasons I can't get into House or the like -- namely I don't enjoy the "offbeat ways and in-your-face approach" the main characters employ). That said it is quite good as a crime drama, and I suspect you'd be more forgiving of that little issue than I am.

I love The Closer. The other night I watched last Christmas' special ep and kept yelling, "I LOVE THIS SHOW!"

Her detective team is pretty cool, especially the grumpy old Provenza. I also really like watching her manipulate the suspects in interrogation. Some shows use detective work and forensics to solve crimes; she's schooled in psychology and slams them in interviews.

Also, there are kitties.

Love the Closer. It is smart, as far as procedurals go, and very funny with Lennie Briscoe (L&O) style one-liners.

I hate when creepy dream stuff carries over into waking up. ::shudders::

And I tried The Closer and just wanted to thwap everyone in it. Not my cuppa, despite all the raves it gets everywhere.
