Claymore eps 6-9 picspam

And now I shall picspam you with what I am convinced IS THE BEST SHOUNEN ORIGIN EVER! SERIOUSLY!

To keep it from being huge:  Teresa tries to leave Clare in a town.  The bandits she fought earlier attack the town.  Teresa kills a few for hurting her Clare.  This is THE BIG EPIC NO-NO FOR CLAYMORES(naturally) and other Claymores are sent to take her down:



But they will not promise to take care of Clare for her, so she takes them down in a classic shounen fountain of blood from the shoulders.



What is the proper response to your top warrior going rogue?  Sending #s 2-5 after her and hoping for the best...





Much fighting ensues, in which Teresa whomps all their butts.  Because she's Teresa, and she's like that.






But that pesky kid gave her a pesky conscience...


Welp, time to go...


But wait!  The new girl can't handle it!


And loses control of her monster side:


Other Claymores wisely stay out of the line of fire:


New girl STILL gets whomped:


But that pesky conscience acts up again, making Teresa delay, resulting in:

She then proceeds to wipe ou the other Claymores:



However, she decides scared little girls are no fun, and leaves Clare.

WE ARE ALMOST TO THE SUPREME ANGST PART!






I'm sorry, Kamui, but the fact that you followed this up by being emo instead of becoming a stoic warrior devoting your life to perfecting the exact skills for taking down the killer bumps you down to second place.

IF YOU CAN TOP THIS NEXT PART FOR EPIC ANGST SHOUNEN ORIGIN, I WANT TO KNOW HOW!!!

And at this point a few months ago, Megan put down the manga and said "this is the best shounen EVER."  And then it got better.

No, seriously, if there's a manga origin out there that tops wandering the countryside, cradling your guardian's decapitated head, then asking that her blood be used to turn you into a superhuman warrior so that you can devote your life to revenge, I WANT TO KNOW WHAT IT IS!

I do have one complaint, and that's that the anime almost portrays things as Priscilla just not being able to handle the idea of losing, whereas in the manga, it's not a "I won't be second best" thing, but her intense belief that the ones following the rules are the good guys and the ones breaking them are the bad guys, and the good guys have to win, and her fragile mental state not being able to handle that worldview being challenged.

I do believe you are right, though. Claymore is pretty up there in terms of "I R HARDCORE SHOUNEN MANGA WARRIOR" series.

Yes, I tried to limit the Irene so you'd still be able to function.

All this year, I've been looking at these shounen heroes and their angst, and I'm all "YOU CALL THAT ANGST?? PSHAW! LET ME SHOW TO YOU CLARE AND HER ANGST! CLARE'S ANGST IS BETTER THAN YOUR'S!"

My favorites are pretty much Miria, Helen, Clare, and Teresa, though Audrey also has a lot of potential.
