Haibane Renmei*, Madlax, or Noien?  Which should I watch while stroking the calico cat in proper Bond Villain style?

Also taking season 1 of The Closer for my non-anime viewing.

*As it's short, I'd probably take a few movies, too.

Haibane Renmei is extremely sweet, delicate and reflective. Only watch if you yourself are in a sweet, delicate and reflective mood. Possibly not appropriate for villainous cat-stroking moods.

If you're in a villanous, cat stroking mood maybe Noien would be a good choice (it's a total mindtrip), but of those three, my favorite was Haibane Renmei. I guess it just depends on what mood you're in at the time.

Madlax is the only one of the group I've seen, so there's my vote.

If you watch it while doing villainous cat-stroking then you need to make sure you cackle, too. (Don't know if that's true for the others)

Definitely Haibane Renmei. I only saw the first four episodes but I thought it was pretty amazing.

Madlax, it's incredibly trippy. But then you also have to watch Noir--Noir was amazing.
