QUESTION!

Does anyone else associate certain icons exclusively with certain people, and then get thrown for a loop when someone else uses it?  Especially when they're displaying opposite sentiments to those of the person you associate with the icon?  (Like when someone posts to livelongnmarry,offering slash fanfic exclusively, and the icon was the same as that of a person on the f-list who writes het, and she's the only one I've ever seen use an icon of that image...or there was the time someone used the Bleach "we're from the dork squad" icon that I'd only seen  use beforetelophase, and they were saying they were selling off all their Bleach stuff so they could go to a con...)

Lol, that happens to me all the time. I immediately assume, for some reason, that it's the person I think it is, and then when they something completely OOC, I do a double-take and feel silly. ;)

Hah, yes, I do that all the time. More often than not it's because they're using one of my icons and I'm momentarily confused, but sometimes it'll be like, someone using the icon of someone I know to be a lesbian talking about dating some guy, or SOMETHING, and I'll be all, "I thought you were... OH WAIT N/M"

Yes, definitely.

In fact, the other way around -- I got rid of an icon of mine (a crop of a painting) because it was too similar to the icon of someone who was friend-of-friend to a few people on my flist. (Inadvertently; I'd never seen the other icon, I just liked the painting.) After receiving a couple of comments intended for them, I decided it wasn't worth the hassle. ^^;

Oh, definitely. There's a pair of friends who share a 'Can't brain today, I have the dumb' userpic that always throws me off. Then, there's someone who stole an image from me which not only throws me off, it irritates me slightly every time.

Happens to me all the time :). I definitely associate certain icons with certain people and when it's actually a different person posting, there is this moment of confusion.

It's even worse when I see one of my own icons (i.e. the ones that I've made) used by someone else.
