I will most likely never order from bookcloseouts.com again.

Make order.  One book is out of stock.  They adjust the price on the website 2 days after shipping to show the correct price.  STILL GET CHARGED FOR BOOK.

Send e-mail explaining that the amount was not changed before I was charged.  Get this response:

I have viewed the shipping invoice, which is updated at the time of shipping
and the adjusted amount was charged.
You may verify this on the emial confirmation of shipping or view past
history on your account.

Please advise if you have any other concerns.

Ok.  Fine.

Forward the final invoice they sent me, which showed that the book was not being sent, but did not have the price adjusted, pointed out that the price there was not the same as what was shown on the website, and repeated that the higher price was what I was charged.

Get this response:

Thank you, the order is processed at the time of shipping to allow the
adjustment for any unavailable  titles.
The amount processed is 63.67 approx for titles
                        11.00 approx for shipping

                        74.67

If you have any other questions please advise.

Well, yes, clearly, AS I HAVE ALREADY SAID TWICE, that is what I SHOULD have been charged, but it is not what I WAS charged.  Did they even bother READING the e-mail?  Noticing that the total at the bottom DID NOT ADD UP as they even SHOWED that the item wasn't in stock, and checking to see if the amount is correct is as simple as adding up the column of prices in the invoice, and seeing that they don't match.

No, I am definitely NOT PLEASED.

Ummm. WTH?! Thanks for the heads up about how thoroughly lame bookcloseouts.com is. I'm sorry you've had to deal with asshats, though. :(

Maybe this will make your day brighter:

The Japanese teaser trailer for Slayers: Revolution. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=67wHhRhJ8wc) Maybe you've already seen it, but I don't recall seeing you post about it, so here's hoping it's a nice little surprise. :D

YES! I mean, seriously. They made an error. Fine. You make an error, you fix it. You do not say "no, you are wrong and you were not charged the amount you are currently looking at having been charged" and then, when given proof, say something that makes NOTHING RESEMBLING SENSE!

*goes to watch trailer*

I'm still trying to figure out what's going on in the second notice they sent you. o_O

Oh! And apparently here's the S:Revolution Opening (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_iMp-qRnmZU&feature=related).

I think the second notice "is...uh...our records are screwed up and we can't do our jobs, but since we told you you were wrong once, we can't admit it, so we'll babble out something that makes no sense."

This is why I won't order online anymore except on ebay or amazon or a brick and mortar store. I had the same experience. Trust me, you keep e-mailing about it and they will deny it even happened or worse, you won't even get the book. I had the same thing happen and not only did I pay for it, but they never sent the book and I never could get hold of a real person. You have my sympathies.

Was yours at bookcloseouts, too?

It's not so much the money-it's only $4-and-change-but the runaround and treating me like I'm stupid.

I only ordered because they had a lot of Tokyopop books on sale, and I'm working on my Clamp collection. Normally, if not brick and mortar stores, I get my novels from Amazon, and my manga from rightstuf(when they have their sales) unless I go to ebay/half.com.

Hie thee to thy credit card company and dispute the charge. That should get the asshats' attention.
