Today from bookcloseouts.com

Thank you, I have sent the further details to our technician as the
information I can view indicate the adjustment and only the technician can
view the settlement report.
I am sorry for any inconvenience.

Sincerely
Sandra JT
Customer Service Representative

I'm trying very, very hard not to view it as a brush off.  No really, I am.

Also, Squeaker has decided that my toes are edible,  She only believes this when I am in bed and trying to sleep and some some reason, I tend to stick my toes out from under the covers.  If I take them back after being nipped, she starts burrowing under the covers to try to get them back.

. . . only the technician can see that they overcharged you? Um.. didn't they say in an earlier response that they could see the amounts on the statement?

Do you have online banking to show that they took too much from whatever form of payment you gave?

I THINK what she's trying to say is that all she can do is look at the order page that I can access. Which is stupid.

And yup, I most definitely have online banking.

... okay well then what use is she if she can't look at anything else? *rolls eyes* I hope they don't give you the run around for too much longer and you get your money back.

I essentially have 24 hours internet access. I can be very annoying if I have to be.

Meh. I'm sorry they are sucking so bad.

If they continue to screw around, you could try complaining to your credit card company (although they may have crap customer service, too, if mine is any example). Really this sounds like a job for Executive Customer Service[*], but you will have to hunt down contact info for some executive type for that tactic.

[*] Contacting a higher-up-than-customer-service person and complaining, and threatening to cause bad publicity for them by complaining on your blog, leaving bad feedback in forums, etc.

Yeah, if I don't have anything back (as in, money) by Wednesday, I'll be doing that.

It's a pity, as I was hoping to use them to acquire some backlogs.

That's a bit crap. Can you (politely) ask to get to a higher ranking person or are they blocking you at every turn? Or maybe pick a random executive from their web page and email them.

That will be the next step. Weds. is more than enough time for them to find their screw up and give me my money back.

They aren't blocking me so much as deliberately not realizing what I'm saying and hoping I won't notice and believe their bull because I'm stupid.

My mind continues to boggle at your misadventures with bookcloseouts.com's customer service. It hurts my brain just to read the responses they've been sending you. o_O

YES!

They make no logical sense. It's why I keep posting them. And it boggles that these are people working for a bookstore. I tend to assign common sense and the ability to understand the English language(if that is the language being used) and to actually respond to what's being said to them if they're dealing with a product that requires a functioning brain to appreciate.

My parent's cat, actually. Squeaker and Patches. The parents are out of town, so I'm catsitting until the 5th.

Grendel has taken to kneading my head (ie: pulling my hair) in the middle of the night, which is not a great way to be woken up. Grrr.

HAH! Yeah, they do that, too, if I don't get up in time. Though, both of my parents have very short hair. It may just fascinate them.
