Also, I am so very, very thrilled that the LJ universe seems to despise Wanted. It gives me an excuse to comment about how it had no chances because Mark Millar is a hack who couldn't care less about plot, characterization, or continuity and only cares about the in-your-face shock value. Now if the hordes of comic book fans would just realize that sex and violence and unpleasant people being rude and unpleasant is not the same as good writing...

Don't know if you know about Tensai! Shimura Doubutsuen, but there are quite a few parts where the pets - only being with the actor / actress for a day - remember the voices of them even after years!

Wanted: I kind of want to watch it, because they filmed parts of it near my work, but I doubt that is worth sitting through an entire movie based on a Mark Millar comic. Maybe I'll rent it when it comes out on DVD. Then I can just watch the Chicago bits.

I am, at once both terrified for those guys - because, hi, it's a BIG FUCKING LION - and extremely touched that lion very clearly remembers them and treats them like part of its pride.

Also, does anyone like Millar? I've been universally underwhelmed by everything he's written.

Millar, sadly, is extremely popular and the entire Marvel Universe is essentially his and Bendis's playground to spraypaint cuss words all over and break the equipment.

Personally, I lost anything vaguely resembling respect for him when I read the first Ultimates trade.
