Yup! I was hoping they would. Also Kyo Kara Maoh, so I'll have 40~ more eps of Magical Girl Shoujo parodying to laugh at!

I was hoping they'd get Ayakashi, as a sign they planned to get Mononoke, but...

Ooh, thanks for the news! They picked up some of my favorite series; it'll be nice to stop relying on, um, dubiously acquired copies.

Tokyopop seems to have been awfully close-mouthed about which series they're dropping--I've seen more news about OEL works (http://www.newsarama.com/comics/060825-Tokyopop2.html) (and some novels) than manga. Icarus Publishing had a blogpost here (http://www.icaruscomics.com/wp_web/?p=1292) mentions series that were removed from order forms, which could just be postponed instead of cancelled, but it might be a good indicator of which series are in trouble?

That's great news considering almost everything I like was put out through Geneon. OTOH, I scrambled around like a madwoman to buy up Paradise Kiss before it vanished, and now there will likely be a nice, affordable thinpak version. *sigh*

Also: No Samurai Champloo or Gankutsuou or R.O.D. the TV? *sad* (already own, but just on principle)

You know, the problem with KKM is that I'm so busy laughing at all the parodying and ripping into of Magical Girl Shoujo that I forget there's actual plot. And then I see a post of somebody taking it seriously and wondering who Yuri will end up with, and I'm all "What? End up with? You have time to worry about that? And did you notice his name is Yuri? YURI! You can't tell me that's accidental! Also, he and Wulfram already have a kid!"

Oh no, I consider all plot in KKM to be incidental to the LULZ.

I mean, the cranky badass KNITS BAD STUFFED ANIMALS! And is the personal property of the mad inventor lady! (Well, it's what she obviously thinks, and he's too scared to correct her!) And you get engaged when you drop a SPOON! Or was it you get engaged with a slap, and picky up a dropped spoon is a duel to the death? And you get to the other world by being flushed down the toilet! And every silly excuse for a plot point is straight out of gushy epic romantic Magical Girls He-Harem Shoujo!

I do not understand! How to they take this seriously? How do you even notice that there is a plot?

Clearly, I must rewatch pertinent parts of s1(by which I mean, anything involving Gwendal, Anissina, Yuri-as-Maoh, or Celi, and some of the more direct rips into the shounen-ai and Magical Girl He-Harem Shoujo genres) sometime soon, then start acquiring season two!

The slap was engagement, I think the spoon was the duel. I remember because of the episode where Wulfram's childhood sweetheart shows up and it shows him slapping her when they were, like, five.

As for re-watching, I have three words:

Ahh! Sorry. Clearly, I was off on which season was which. They all kind of ran together for me, especially since I basically mainlined them through Netflix.

Regardless, I think that the bits of what must have been Season 2 are more plotty, but never in the 'I need to follow the plot and to hell with the crack' kind of way. The crack will always win.
