Code:Breaker CH 4-5: PUPPY!!! I’m sorry, what? I got distracted. I have a feeling that Sakura’s school thinking she’s chasing after Ogami is going to grow a little old before long. Though, given that Ogami has now added cop killing to his habits, that might not last long anyway. I wish Sakura hadn’t been pulled away before she could even think of fighting, though. (And was starting to wonder if Kamijyo forgot about her after we saw her get grabbed.) I wonder if this is going to make them end up on the run.

Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle CH 193: *phew* A slight break from the overwhelming cute. I WAS ACTUALLY ABLE TO NOTICE WHAT WAS GOING ON! The “let’s hold hands and run together!” and Sakura chewing Touya out for messing with Syaoran kind broke my brain. Uhm...mostly setup for the OMG EPIC ANGST that’s coming, what with real!chibi!Sakura kinda doing the same things clone!Sakura did in the first volume.

xxxHolic CH 159-161: It looks like Kohane’s arc is finally over. Which is not to say that I don’t adore Kohane, but there’s been nothing but her arc going on for a while now. It was nice to finally get an explanation for why Doumeki puts up with Watanuki, though, and Watanuki somehow seems happier now that he knows the world he lives in is a dream. Now if Clamp would just remember a character named Himawari...

how do you know that it's definately a dream world? i'm so confused about that part... why is it a dream world and what has that got to do with everything? I don't want him to just be a dream!!! D:

Somewhere around vol 12-13~ he told Yuuko that he'd realized it had to be something like that. I don't think he's a dream, but I think the world of xxxHolic exists to protect him from something.

I think Watanuki's "real" world might be the spirit realm, where he's met with Clone!Sakura's spirit, sleeping not!Syaoran, and Haruka Doumeki. He's often shown in pajamas there. When he sleeps, he goes to the life we've seen, with his friends and Yuuko's shop.

I believe that world of XXXHolic is a genuine reality. But Watanuki is like... a spirit or soul who is dreaming that he's alive. Once he discovers whatever the whole truth behind the situation is, his ability to stay in the XXXHolic reality will rest upon the power of his friends' belief in his existence. And, uh, Doumeki's egg trick.

considering that we don't see Watanuki interact with anyone outside of those who are directly being effected by him (Yuuko's clients, kohane's mother) I tend to think that he is part of the 'spirit' realm.

I will be ever so glad when they tie this all up, hopefully with a pretty bow and without lots of questions cough Clover cough since it HURTS to understand CLAMP logic when you don't know everything yet.

plus let's face it, why else would Yuuko let him keep his spirit seeing powers? she has stolen just about anyone else who has come to her with them...er I mean she has 'traded' for them to give them a normal life

I suspect Yuuko's taking powers is her turning everything back to the way it should be. I half wonder if the powers are a part of real!Sakura.

Yuuko's manipulations tend to result in people either getting what's coming to them anyway, or having a better life.

i agree that it seems like Yuuko is taking powers that aren't meant for the world and setting things back to plan. since she can't interfere in the normal course of things (tracking down the abnormal things) I guess this is the best she can do.

but I sometimes wonder if her motivations are sometimes more selfish then that. As of late she seems to be...not affected by Watanuki, but maybe more interested in him. I wonder at times if Watanuki isn't Clow Reed, or a fragment of his spirit (he does bear a certain resemblence to Eriol, but that might just be CLAMP's style making them seem related) because there are times I swear she has a haunted look in her eyes when he says things.

I tend to think that the Yuuko we see is the Yuuko she wants Watanuki to see, but that that's starting to break down.

My personal theory (well, one of them) is that Watanuki is Yuuko and Clow Reed's son, especially after ch 192 of Tsubasa.

Clow is a sly dog I give him that much. He not only managed to influence the lives of everyone in CCS, but now also xxxHolic and TRC. I half expect to find out he's involved with the Dragons of Heaven and Earth in X, or was related to Subaru in Tokyo Babylon...I don't put anything past CLAMP nowadays..

I only hope that some of the characters have an ending they can be happy, or at least content, with. CLAMP books go either way after all.

But on the other hand, why would Sakura have had any reason to fight? Ogami's intention was to kill all the gang members; she didn't want anything to do with that.

My theory about what's going to happen is that Ogami kills all the cops but gets hurt in the process, so Sakura, way against her better judgement, grabs him with her freakish strength and runs. Angst and characterization ensue. Because in Kamijyo, you can't have characterization without angst.

They only got away with the scene where Doumeki explains why he sticks around with Watanuki because they're CLAMP. No one else could have pulled that off.

But what were the chances of Ogami letting them get anywhere near her? It's too early for ROARRR YOU NO TOUCH MY WOMAN. So--what were the chances of them getting past Ogami?

"Oh, yours slaughters people without a thought, too?" "Yeah, how crazy!" "And is kind of hot when he's doing it?" "No! Killing is wrong! And bad!" "But... it's kind of hot." "Bad!" Am I the only one who notices Yuya getting desensitized to the slaughter as the manga goes on?

I'm not sure Yuya's getting desensitized so much as she's been kept really busy keeping them from killing each other, getting cursed and being in a semi-regular state of half-dead, and having Kyo pass out in her lap and such.

Actually, Chobitsd(specifically, the ending) is the main reason I didn't read Clamp for a few years.
