The amount of chapters left very much depends on what's going to happen next. Will Al be a Tragic Figure and Ed a bereaved brother? (I don't think so, though) Will Al somehow survive Pride's body-snatching? And remember, this is a popular shounen series. Editors like to hold the mangaka hostage and make them churn out chapters continuously.
