Ever since I followed [livejournal.com profile] telophase's link when she posted on it, Amazon has been pushing Deborah Chester's The Pearls on me. It is on the front page. It is in my "recommendations" list. It has invaded my Gold Box. Make it go away.

ANYWAY!

wait...dammit. i didnae mean to click on Gossip Girl.

You should watch Chuck as well. I meant to click on that option instead of Gossip Girl, as I have never seen that show so can't really recommend.

Did you ever watch Jake 2.0? Because it's remarkably similar, only with Adam Baldwin. (And a bunch of other awesome people. But he's the only actor I remember the name of.)

It's an enjoyably fluffy average-joe-becomes-a-spy show.

I voted for _Pushing Daisies_ not as a rec, but because I'm interested in reading your opinion of it.

BUT: I cannot believe that you have not watched _Sarah Connor Chronicles_! You of all people need to see it! It is to other American SF TV shows as _Claymore_ is to shonen manga! (And thanks for pointing out it'll be available on DVD soon! I must get it and watch it all again before the next season starts!)

Pushing Daisies seems to be the winner so far.

Catching Terminator 2 on TV somewhere in the 90s is why I like scifi(and likely why my scifi tastes run more towards modern/near future/post apocalyptic, as opposed to space) and I have yet to undertand why they keep making Sarah-less Terminator movies. I stayed very, very quiet when the series was announced out of fear of suckage, but now greatly anticipate it.

YES. SCC IS WONDERFUL. I am beyond gleeful over what they did with it. (There are moments where I go, "erm, yes, poor choice," though. Fair warning.)

Plus it has Tony Amendola in one ep. This is always a bonus.

I notice Farscape isn't in your tags. Have you not seen? You may want to consider rectifying this.

OMG BRA'TAC!

I have seen and liked the first season of Farscape, and plan to watch more. There should be a tag somewhere. tv: Farscape, I think. As a warning, I watched it when "SF is better than fantasy and fantasy is stupid because of magicmagicmagic unless it's Harry Potter" was going around a lot, including with some people who recced Farscape to me, and much of the first season is high fantasy in space and not afraid to admit it(not a complaint, btw) and my irritation over that attitude kinda colored my posts.

YES, BRA'TAC! *LOVES*

Oh, I probably missed it. And I don't blame you for being irritated with that attitude. I would be too. I probably ignored it at the time, given that I'm an equal opportunity fangeek most of the time.

I love that it's high fantasy in space. I mean, guys, this isn't really science fiction, it's just set in space. (I flail with a lot of glee over FS, so clearly I'm going to have to go and check out your tagged posts.)

EVERYTHING IS BETTER WITH BRA'TAC!!!

In all honesty, the only space sci-fi I can really get into (Farscape, Star Wars, Deathstalker...Firefly if you substitute "fantasy" with "western") is all about embracing its fantasy roots. (I don't really count SG-1 as space sci-fi, even though there are more and more spaceships as the series progresses, but I haven't really made up my mind about SGA in that regard.)

It wasn't one of those big "everyone on LJ is voicing their opinions on this" things (we seem to reserve that for massive sexist and racist wank, and the removal of basic accounts) it just went around in a few circles. Though, I have to say, anytime someone complains about fantasy being too long or having too much magic or having too many of the standard fantasy conventions, but they love Harry Potter I...I have a hard time not letting that affect my opinion of them. Because that series? Worse than 95% of the genre in those regards.

Clarification of my choices: they are shows that I watch and plan to continue watching. They aren't necessarily shows I think you might want to check out.

Pushing Daisies is on my list but I'm not pressed.

I really love Burn Notice (although I haven't started the new season yet) but I don't know if you'll like it. I can't see you enjoying GG too much and I'm not particularly obsessed with SCC although I'll still watch.

Which reminds me, I need to finish the first season.

I've been wanting to check out most of these shows, so maybe I'll just wait and see what you pick, so we can leave each other comments in caps lock, ;)

Burn Notice is excellent; Sarah Connor Chronicles is decent -- better if you're fond of the Terminator movies, alright otherwise; Pushing Daisies is a nice compliment to Dead Like Me.

Pushing Daisies is like watching twenty mind-blowingly adorable and artfully written (so they don't get saccharine) chibi!flashbacks on steroids. Highly recommended. The romantic leads, they don't bicker! They're actually in love!

Nothing wrong with bickering as long as there's also substance.

I will not vote for Gossip Girl, because to do so admits I've watched it. >.>

Burn Notice is great, light fun which I adore, and makes me chuckle. SCC is way better than I expected.

As for the earlier mentions of Chuck...I tried the entire first season of the show. There were moments I liked, but there were mostly ones that I just didn't care for. The nerds try way too hard to be nerds, and it just sits wrong with me.

Oooh, Reaper. I looooove Reaper.

Burn Notice definately (explosions, Irish terrorist, spies, BRUCE CAMPBELL and Jeffrey Donovan is kinda hot. His mom is ludicrious and I hate her tho).

Gossip Girl...this is another show I watched and was like 'oh so Chuck and Nate are together? Does Dan know Serena is dating Blair? Are Chuck, Nate and Blair in a kinky threesome?' and my sister slapped me hard for thinking so. the show HURTS my sensibilities.

Pushing Daisies I didn't like when I saw it, but I hear it really good.

Sarah Connor forever.

Chuck for certain.

i'm trying to think of other shows and am drawing blanks. I'm excited for Early Edition being on DVD. that is SO going to be bought very very soon.
